new horizons

Well, this was strange. The sample she had been studying was behaving….oddly. Not that anything they came across wasn’t odd, but this was something different. Could this be the breakthrough that she could need to open a new path towards the biggest discovery of the century. “What are you….” she muttered under her breath ass he tried a new hypothetical manipulation.

Biology had never been in his wheelhouse: Kaz felt a much stronger pull toward all things mechanical as a child, despite how closely intertwined the two would sometimes become. Robots just made more sense to him, but it never stopped him from having a healthy curiosity about the field. As such, he could often be found in the bio lab just observing, trying to give his brain a break from whatever obstacles he was facing in the tech lab and see things from a different perspective. “What’ve you got there?” He asked Thena gently, stepping a little closer after hearing her private struggle. He’d always expressed interest in her work, and enjoyed listening to her talk about it, which... was a bit of a rarity, honestly.

Sometimes, just sometimes, he felt like his inner screaming could just be heared outside of his head. He was not paying attention to the head of engineering at all, truth be told, he hadn’t even seen him. He looked at him with the most done -okay then  face he had in stock.  “ I’m not that kind of doctor, unless you’re bleeding, I honestly don’t give a flying fuck about you … no offense.”

The look of absolute contempt that flashed over Kaz’s features was as good an indicator of their relationship as anything: the engineer found Fowler insufferable, and never missed an opportunity to let him know so. Evidently, the feeling was mutual. “Fuck, you’re unpleasant,” he growled, shoulder’checking him as he pushed by. “Pay a modicum of attention to your surroundings then, genius... don’t loiter so close to people. Might make them think you give a shit.”
