I came across this on eBay and just had to have it. It's so rare to see French Cutie Honey merchandise!

New details about Cutie Honey: Beloved Enemy have been revealed.

Rina Hashimoto will star as an original character named Hyouko Kurou, an evil woman who has taken over Honey's father's company, Kisaragi Technology. She has ambitions of world domination.

Yui Kitamura will star as Natsuko Aki, who supports Honey and infiltrates Kisaragi Technology after Hyoko's takeover.

Haruka Katayama will star as Miharu Tsuneni, a sales manager who torments Honey and Natsuko.

Genta Shimizu will star as Seiji Hayami, a mysterious newspaper reporter who secretly aids Honey.

Although this looks laughably cheap, I really like what they're going for! It looks a lot more entertaining than Cutie Honey Nova and I appreciate how they've updated the original story while retaining most of the original cast of characters.

Although Hyouko Kurou is described as an original character, she is very obviously modeled after Sister Jill. In an interview Rina Hashimoto mentions she was familiar with Cutie Honey and actually watched all animated and live action adaptations to prepare for her role. I love to hear her excitement and dedication!

We have a new Cutie Honey series! Live action, again? I'm not familiar with vertical dramas but so far this reeks of Tubi movie quality.

DMM TV lists this as a "romantic comedy." I wonder if that's a mistake, a placeholder or we're getting something very weird again. The background depicts a desk and chair bursting into flames... could this imply an office setting?

The Magical Girls Festival is just days away! I will be giving out some fabulous prizes during my panel including the complete Cutie Honey TV series on Blu-ray!

Way back in 2001, ADV Films announced they had licensed a new Cutie Honey series. The only details given were that the series was “in production” and would be CG animated. Years passed and nothing ever came of it. The only sites that ever mentioned it were Anime News Network and The Ultimate Cutey Honey Resource. When news of Hideaki Anno's Re: Cutie Honey came out in 2004, fans speculated this could've been the series that ADV had originally licensed.

Sometime after Re: Cutie Honey was released, I attended an ADV Films panel at some convention (I believe Anime Next but I can't remember for sure) and asked Matt Greenfield about it. He stated that the series they licensed was scrapped completely and not at all related to Re: Cutie Honey. While this was sad to hear, it was nice to get some clarification. However, this canceled project continued to bug me over the years. Why was there no information about anywhere on the internet? Why weren't there any images of it floating around? It drove me insane!

After some deep diving, I finally struck gold.

I am very excited to present an English translation of Kazushi Sasaki's Cutey Honey Flash manga! This is a very unique adaptation that tosses out the romance elements of the TV series to focus more on Honey and Seira's sisterly relationship. The artwork is absolutely stunning and it's quite a fun read to boot. Scanning, translating and editing were all done by me. This is an ongoing project.

Ken Ishikawa’s Cutie Honey manga from Eiga TV Magazine is now completely translated in English. You can check out all five chapters here.

New images and details about Cutie Honey Nova have been released. In this version, Honey Kisaragi is a performing arts student at St. Capella Academy and aspires to be an idol. She always has her "Saber Scan" which was created by her father, Dr. Kisaragi. Cutie Honey is a mysterious Warrior of Love who defeats villains with her charms and superhuman abilities.

More details about this project as well as the first chapter of the manga adaptation will be available in Girls Plasmo Style #06. The Cutie Honey Nova manga will be serialized on Hobby Japan Web beginning April 1st. Each chapter will be updated on the 1st and 15th of every month.

The complete Cutie Honey TV series is now available on SD Blu-ray! I was a producer for this release and I also did the subtitles. I still can't believe I got to work on the official English release of my all time favorite anime!

Discotek Media is releasing the original Cutie Honey TV series on SD-BD. The release date is February 25th, 2025.

I did the subtitles (and then some) for this release, which is honestly a dream come true. I was only 14 years old when I imported the Japanese DVDs with my own allowance money. Never in a million years did I think I'd get to work on its official US release!

This Blu-ray will have a completely new and improved translation from the original DVDs. Names and terminology will be consistent with Discotek's New Cutey Honey, Re: Cutie Honey and Cutie Honey The Live releases.

My friend and magical girl enthusiast, Ayumi Shinozaki, did a lot of translation work for this release. She especially helped out with a lot of trickier dialogue, namely 90% of Danbei and Ms. Alphonne's lines. My good friend @sailorfuncomics was also a huge help by proofreading the subtitles. And of course, huge thank you to Justin Sevakis and David Miranda for making this all possible.

Sully and returning guest Salvatore (@RetroSofa) sit down with VA and dub director David Wald and OG Cutie Honey dub actress Jessica Calvello to discuss their work on the recent English dub for the 2004 OVA Re: Cutie Honey from Discotek! Topics include how Go Nagai chose Jessica for the role of Honey, how dubbing has changed since Jessica first took the role in the 90s for New Cutie Honey, and what makes Honey so special all these years later. An important note: This was recorded a few months ago, prior to David’s statement on Crunchyroll opening his fan mail without his knowledge and dispersing the contents to their staff. Upon David’s request, we didn’t go back and add any additional mention of this in the episode, but we did want to state here in text that we are deeply disappointed in Crunchyroll’s behavior and we encourage anyone listening or reading this to support David and call upon Crunchyroll to do better.

I've been a huge Cutie Honey fan since I was fourteen years old. Back then only New Cutey Honey was officially available in the US. Never in my wildest dreams did I think we'd get more Honey or that I would be lucky enough to work on these US releases!
