San Diego sunsets.

Yesterday, as I was riding my bike home from the gym, I decided to check out an estate sale. After rummaging through piles of musty paperbacks and chipped china, I paused to chat with the hosts of the sale. I jokingly asked how much they wanted for the house, as it was a quaint old place (and I'm nosey). One of the ladies swivelled her chair towards me and said it would be on the market soon. Then she asked if I had children. I replied that I didn't, and wasn't planning to either. She responded with something to the effect of, "well, nowadays you can decide to have babies, it doesn't have to just be an accident anymore." I laughed it off not wanting to go to the trouble of explaining that for me to get pregnant by accident would have serious implications for my monogamous same-sex relationship.

We started our trip by spending a few days exploring La Paz and the markets there. 

Gotta dry the laundry where ever you can! 

We stayed a night in Copacabana, a small tourist town on the shore of Lake Titicaca. The next morning we headed across the lake to Isla del Sol which was an amazing, beautiful, and peaceful place especially in contrast to the Copacabana and La Paz.

First stop was the train graveyard right outside Uyuni. 

off we went to the  Salar de Uyuni salt flats! And we got a “how we make salt” lesson from our guide. 

Found an island in the middle of the salt flats called Inka Was. 

We flew from La Paz to Rurrenabaque for a 3 hour boat ride into the amazon to the Madidi national park.
