Katrina was only around twelve when middle sister Samantha died during childbirth. Sam was seventeen and Kat loved Sam very much. She was much closer to Samantha than she was with their eldest sister, Beverly. Bev and Kat would fight like cats and dogs, but Kat only had good memories of Sam, who would do her hair and make up, and let her borrow her clothes, and shared her love of theatre with her. Katrina was heartbroken when her sister died and she wasn’t sure she would ever pull herself out of it. Being so young, it was hard fir her to really spend much with her sister’s husband and the new baby that she’d left behind, and soon her sister’s husband Grant moved baby Emma to Spain to be with her grandparents anyway. Katrina retreated from him a little, though she tried to keep in touch with her old friends, but it was tough. She just wanted to move on.

At the age of sixteen, Katrina enrolled in the army. She hadn’t amounted to very much in school and really hated it, and her mother (though worried) was more than happy to give her consent to sign up. The only area she had really excelled was P.E. and, though it was much more intense, she went on to excel in the army. It really shaped her into a strong, dedicated young woman and she became very close with those who she was eventually sent over into war zones with.

During the shocking time that Samantha came back after having faked her death, Kat struggled very much. She wasn’t in town the moment Sam returned but eventually got to see her sister. Things weren’t the same though and Kat she felt rather betrayed. How could someone do that? How could her own sister do that?! Pretend to die and just… leave her family, her life, her baby, behind? Katrina shut Sam out for a while, but before the other woman left town again they sort of made amends. It was Kat that helped Sam disappear that night, after her sister told her she was being plagued by a stalker. She had been attacked by him and was fleeing town. During the night, Kat pretended to be her sister to lead the stalker off, while Sam made a quick escape. She calls her on the phone quite often now, to make sure she’s okay and check in, but it can be tough still. Sometimes she’s still angry and bitter towards Sam. Their parents are gone now though and Beverly is distant, so… she likes to keep at least a little bit of contact.

Katrina’s life isn’t entirely where she’d like it to be. She always thought she would kind of… be more. Do more. She keeps intermittent contact with Emma, who is back in Spain after having her own insane faked death story (like mother, like daughter), and she keeps up with her sister Beverly’s two daughters too. She loves her family and would like everyont to be closer but she just sometimes wishes that her life could have… more to it. More substance. Maybe love, maybe a real career, maybe friends. She isn’t sure but some days she feels very disillusioned. Kat thinks she would like to join the police force, as it seems the next logical step, but she isn’t sure that they would even take her on.

Has been suffering from PTSD from her time in the army. She attends a group therapy over in the next town of Bridgefield, though she often skips them when she cannot handle it. Kat was rather reclusive in the years following her discharge from the army and she lost quite a few friends. Kat also doesn’t work, but she lives in the home she grew up in. After her parents died Beverly wanted to sell it but Kat was adamant at keeping it. She struggles quite a lot but she keeps it in, feeling quite ashamed of suffering even if she logically knows that it isn’t anything to be ashamed of, and she always urges other soldiers in her position to seek help. It just always seems harder when it comes to herself.
