There is this one guy on tik Tok who travels to other countries and speaks a million languages and the idea that we aren't developing technology to mimic those skills, connecting the world, trying to preserve languages rarely spoken, connecting cultures and instead created ai technology to take away the most desirable job market with a semblance of meritocracy (art) is so infuriating I want to scream...
Have seem some comments suggesting that birthright citizenship could become "The next roe v wade" which is a bit worrying, it is a classic political history point that abortion used not really to be a political issue except among catholics, who were few in number in the US, until some right-wing activists really went hard on in starting in the 70s and it became a central organizing issue on the right.
Best part is I will bet so so much money if we had to do all the shit required to emigrate here so many Americans would be completely incapable, I personally would absolutely fail the citizenship test and I bet a lot of Americans would... Why would they even... The funniest part is like, let's force people to have children and then not even give those kids citizenship! What! WHAT?!
I feel very bad for Vietnam veterans but I also don't want troops to go into foreign countries committing war crimes thinking they can come home and be labeled as heroes... Shame is the only tool we have right now. What Israel is doing to Lebanon right now makes me sick and I hate the idea of a penny of my tax dollars going to support it.
