June 29- We made it back to Maine! We are staying at a dock in Pepperell Cove on Kittery Point until Robin can come out of the water on July 13th.

Tonight Gloucester! It's a very pretty harbor. Lots of room for anchoring and moorings with some pretty boats. The town has several lovely churches and the harbor is lined with big robber-Barron homes. We can see the skyline of Boston from here too. Only half a day and we will make it to the Piscataqua River! Home bad for Robin!! Woo-hoo!

June 28- This morning we traveled 15 miles through the Cape Cod Canal. It's saved us from sailing all the way around the Cape something like 140 miles! So Thankful! Finn wanted to make sure I got pictures of both bridges he called one a "turtle bridge" I bet you can figure out which one.

Joe’s least favorite boat name this trip: Stout Wench - he felt it was so disrespectful to the boat. Every time we heard it on the radio he would cringe.

June 27- Hello Massachusetts! Officially back in New England- fog, long sleeves needed and other wooden boats! We will be going under this bridge in the morning to head up the Cape Cod Canal.

June 26- We made it to Block Island. Got fuel and some more engine oil. No pictures of the Great Salt Pond Anchorage but it was big and filling up for the 4th of July. The kids travel with their bowls ready just in case they feel sick. So far so good. It’s been pretty calm. tomorrow we head to the mouth of the Cape Cod Canal!

Turns out it's not in CT or NY! It's part of Rhode Island! Who knew? Not me, obviously. Named after a Dutch explorer,FYI.

June 25-26 We sailed from Atlantic City NJ through the night and will get to Block Island (not sure if it’s CT or NY) today by happy hour! 160 miles! Pretty calm last night only a few exciting moments when a small front moved through about 11pm and we had to get the main sail down quickly. We sailed for a large portion last night and made 6-7 knots. Pretty sunrise this morning. Our engine is burning more oil now and so we check and add one quart every six hours. You know what Captain Ron says, “diesels love their oil like sailors love their rum”

June 24- anchored at Brigatine NJ looking towards Atlantic City. Two little boom-riders.

June 23- Happy 16th Anniversary to us!! We spent the afternoon checking out The Golden Nugget Casino. We did happy hour at the Chart House to celebrate. Finn took our picture and Sadie photo bombed us. We are anchored at Brigantine NJ across the river from Atlantic City. We will stay here one more night to wait for tropical storm Cindy to pass by. Hopefully calmer tomorrow.

June 22- we made it down the Delaware Bay today. It was calm and easy. Getting into Cape May NJ anchorage was more exciting with some very flooded bridges. We barely fit under the two bridges but we did fit and all was ok. We are now anchored at Cape May. Checking the weather for tomorrow. Might get to Atlantic City tomorrow before the wind picks up.

June 21- we played on a beach across from the marina and took a quick ride further up the river and saw about 6 heron and some ducks and bald eagles. Joe replaced the engine mounts and we spent the night anchored at the mouth of the Sassafras River. Ready for the Delaware Bay tomorrow!

Beautiful Chesapeake Bay

June 20- still at Skipjack Cove Marina tonight. Turns out we need 2/4 new engine mounts that we ordered and Joe will install tomorrow. We said good-bye to Jay, Sue and Lenny today as they head to Rock Hall. Lots of nice amenities here for a several day stay- big pool, tv lounge, playground, laundry, nice showers. We got some rain yesterday afternoon and got a double rainbow view. Hopefully after Joe installs the mounts we will get to Chesapeake City tomorrow evening. Only three hours away from here.

June 18- Happy Father's Day from the Sassafras River! We met up with Jay on his sailboat at Skipjack Cove Marina for a pretty dinner on the river. Finn still loves the bridges. The Bay Bridge is pretty spectacular, 4plus miles long!!

June 18- We left the Hillsmere mooring in the South River early in the morning. We made a quick detour up the Severn River and took Ray and Torri for a quick Father's Day cruise by the academy and back to their dock. Robin looked great hanging out and the mooring is all ready for our next visit. They hadn't seen their new house from the river yet so that was fun to give them that opportunity. Jesse and Jack waved from an upstairs balcony.

Sadie is so ready to be independent with swimming now she will only use the ring like above. So stubborn. Ollie and Finn hug good-bye.
