Angel wrapped her arms around Kat as soon as she could. “I missed you so much Kat.”

“I missed you too.” Kat said with a watery smile. “I can’t believe you’re here.” She released the smaller girl. “Do you need help with your bags? “

I’m back. Who missed me?

I did!

Angel froze when she heard the voice speak her name from behind her. She quickly spun around, “Kat,” she breathed, her eyes watering at seeing her best friend.

Kat swallowed, though her mouth had gone dry. She had about a hundred questions that wanted to come spewing out at once. Instead, she all but flung herself at the other girl.

“Wow, this place is huge” Angel breathed out, looking around her at where she would now be living.

Kat faltered, a look of shock taking over her features. She’d been about to greet the girl, incidentally from behind, when she’d heard her speak. “Angel?”

Dude–DUDE. And you didn’t tell me so I could come see you dance?? I’M OFFENDED Kat. Offended. But I’m so glad you’re back here. I’ve been—better but I’m okay now yanno?

I’m sorry! I honestly didn’t even think about it, but if i t makes you feel better, I was usually in the back anyway. Okay, okay, how about this? Next time, I’ll make totally sure I tell you. I’m glad to be back. Oh, Parker. It’s really awful that so many people lost a friend.

Isla paused before taking the offered food and trying them out, observing them as she did. She broke into a grin, “Holy crap…” she laughed a little, “You’ve got great…kooky taste, I like that.” she popped another into her mouth. 

Kat chuckled a bit. “Kooky. I guess that kind of describes me in general, actually.” She offered the bag to the brunette. “Have you been here long, Isla?” She asked, popping a cracker into her mouth.

It take a lot of fumbling to get herself into the hallway, but once she does, she stands proudly upright, grinning at her company. “Hey, um…” She trails off and squints, at a loss for names at this point. Shrugging dismissively, she makes the subject of her attention aware that it’s them she is talking to by reaching out and pointing, “I like your face.” It comes out amidst joyful sounding giggle, “I like how there are two eyes and like… a mouth. Wow.” She smiles, slightly lopsidedly, “You are B - E - A - uuuutiful.”

Kat laughed at the smaller woman’s words. The generic compliments were something she particularly enjoyed. “I like your face, too. I mean, you’ve even got a nose. That’s, like, a human horn.” Kat pressed her lips together, really hoping Margo caught the reference, else she would sound more than slightly crazy. 

Kat! Were you in a hurry to see me, is that why you didn’t have time to stop?

Obviously! My mom says hi, by the way, and said you can come to her place for Thanksgiving.

Most of it was candy, but I couldn’t keep it because it was going to go bad, so I went into your old room, sat on your old bed and ate it and laughed.. but also cried a little, not going to lie there. Where did you go? You better have brought me shit.

Well, then I’m glad it got eaten. You cried over me? I’m sorry, Leah. I was touring with Rihanna. I was one of her dancers. I did, but how much you get kind of depends on how much you like her.

You know, when I left the show? Well, I went to Japan and got you shit, but when I came back you were gone… so it’s my shit now, asshole.

You can keep the shit. I’m sorry I left, but you’ll never believe where I was.

About time you showed up. I knew you’d come back eventually- they always do.. including myself.
