We’ve been holed up for four days and your fever is just high enough for you to feel claustrophobic in your own body. You can’t sit up for long, but you aren’t floppy couch crumb either. And then, you discovered that I️ ate the gumdrop off the top of your toothpick sculpture. Granted, it was a sculpture you made a week ago, and haven’t looked at since. But somehow you noticed, not five minutes after I️ wrestled that thing off its spire and popped it, hard yet sweaty, into my mouth. Oh the fury.
