Katell Clayton

I used to rp with someone before the reboot. They played various characters- one of whom Katell grew in a romantic relationship with. I miss them. I wonder how they are doing...

Anyway this character, Miguel, had at some point hinted at the fact he was almost captured to work for the Abbey of Everyman as a boy, and now I just question what it would be like in the Reboot if Kat met Brother Miguel.

Being of high priority and renown, the Clayton children were brought up in the port-town of Vesuvia where their parents each stood as major merchant forces within the city’s social elite. This is why it was so shocking when two of the three children, Marie and Hayden, fell to the clutches of the ever-persistent plague. They lasted for a year before finally passing at the age of seventeen and thirteen respectively.

Verse-Specific:

Katell had read all of the romance books on her little shelf enough to know that tying your sheets together was a perfectly viable and perfectly sound action to take when faced with a wedding that was forced onto you.

Somehow, she thought, I thought it’d be longer.

The makeshift rope tied to the window-frame was indeed, rather short. Partially because Katell didn’t know a more effective way of tying two things together securely (this was her fault), and partially because she had not taken the time to nick some more from the linen cabinet (like she told herself she would).

Now, dangling half-way down the three-story wall in the dead of night she was faced with two prospects. Climbing back up and attempting escape tomorrow at the risk of only getting trapped again.... OR falling down into the well-maintained bramble below.

Still... She legitimately could only have this last chance to run away, and if falling into brambles meant she’d not marry a stranger for her mother’s own needs then- so be it.

Katell let go of her sheet, falling over a story and a half onto the bramble... Which did hurt- but nowhere near as bad as was soon bouncing and landing on the stone pathway adjacent to it- only saved from the impact by holding her bag next to her head.

After a moment of laying still, Katell looked back up, and eventually, tiredly, limped up to her feet. She now stood outside, in her family’s garden, just as she had done so many times before.
