I’m officially over the sokka respect women juice jokes. Everyone acting like that was his whole entire arc and not an arc that was completed by the fourth episode of the show. There were 57 episodes after he drank the juice.

i literally have so much respect for sokka like if i were travelling the world with three insanely powerful middle schoolers i would have gone insane.

*eyes the cactus juice episode*

this has already been said a thousand times, but I love the way that aang consistently chooses kindness throughout the show. he’s always willing to help, even if the people are strangers, he gives people endless second chances, he cares deeply about the world and its inhabitants, he manages to bring fun and joy to people despite his trauma, and just... I know this has been said more articulately before but I just love how aang is a deeply kind hero.

can’t stop thinking about how fans of color (and white allies, few and far between as they are) literally do all of the legwork to get y’all to not be racist when you’re writing your fic or making your art and yet y’all are still clowning, daily. the needle has not moved in the seven months or so I’ve been in atla fandom, despite the hard work of so many people to write the crit posts, include the sources, point you to the further reading. and I think a lot of ppl are starting to get to a point (or have already gotten to a point) where we ask “ok what the hell is the point of this? what are we even doing here?” I don’t spend hours and days and weeks writing fandom crit for it to be rbed and subsequently ignored (or not be rbed at all rip to my like to reblog ratio), and I’m sure everyone else who does that kind of thing feels the same way. so what’s it going to take, atla fandom? what is it going to take for y’all to listen? 

deadass if you’re a big atla blog and you are not listening to fans of color and uplifting our voices (rbing our fandom crit posts, utilizing the resources we give you in your own work, directing your followers to change the culture of this fandom to be less fucking racist) then I don’t fuck with you. if you’re a small blog but you decide to antagonize blogs of color for kicks then I don’t fuck with you. y’all make this fandom fucking hostile every chance you get and I’m fucking over it. 

update: I read the article where the “news” is coming from (thank you for sending it to me Jas and also for answering my questions about it) and they don’t have any sources and Netflix hasn’t said anything so for now I am choosing to believe that a demon is fucking with us and the news is fake. if you would like to read it for yourself, here is the article. even if this is true, though, we all know there is absolutely no reason to be optimistic about any atla live action, so I hope you will all remain pessimistic grumps about this whole enterprise.
