“I think that would be an acceptable answer if we didn’t live in a mans world where the conscription to the concepts they hold dearly is important to normal function. The main harm I’m facing right now is that I haven’t made any money in over a month and if I’m not careful I may lose my shop, my home and just about everything… So you know, there’s some harm.”

Morgan chuckled, his normal light attitude taking a back seat for a second but quickly coming back to the forefront. “For now though, I’m happy to continue to ignore that it makes life much easier.”

Kaspian was not happy to see such a turn in the other’s mood, but he knew where the feelings came from. He was going to just let it go when Morgan said he would ignore it, but he couldn’t seem to. “Why didn’t you say that, I would of come by, give you some business.”

“You know I believe that the worst thing that the muggles ever invented was the never ending cycle of TV at their fingertips. Do you know how much of my life I have probably wasted in the last month doing absolutely nothing? I mean, I have had a rather wonderful time at home but you have no idea how much time I’ve wasted.”

“Time is irrelevant and frankly a man made concept. I say, waste it more. If you’re having fun, whats the harm?”

“So, I’m down to do anything that doesn’t involve talking about that stupid party.” Phoebe smiled as she walked alongside Kaspian. “Everyone’s been talking about it lately, and honestly I’m tired of it. Like I get that we’re all supposed to be scared, but it’s getting a little out of hand.” She thought about it for a second, “Unless of course, you really need to, and then I will hold back my opinions and give you all of my attention.”

“Oh no no, I definitively agree. I don’t want to hear about it anymore either. Not like I can say I’m surprised by the whole thing.” Kaspian chuckled lightly, “But feel free to give me all your attention anyways.” He mused sweetly, pushing his hair back from his face, as it was starting to grow out again. “How about we have some drinks at the bar, watch a movie? We can make sarcastic commentary the whole time.”

“Oh my god,” she gushed. “Where would I be without you?”

“Bored and sober.” He replied, handing her the flask as sneakily as he could. “You look great tonight, by the way.”

“I guarantee you I will still be just as miserable.” Jackson raised his glass in a mock toast, smile on his face. “Thanks for the suggestion, though.”

“Oh come on, don’t be so pouty, it’s a party.” Kaspian chided teasingly, taking a drink form his glass. “Have another drink, have some fun. Don’t you have that pretty boyfriend? Go dance with him.”

“One of us has to be,” he replied, chuckling as he looked over at Kaspian before he reached out to snag two treats off a passing tray and held one out to Kas. “Yeah?”

“Much better that it’s you, you seem much more suited for the job.” He replied with a cheery smile. Kas nodded as he took the treat, “Oh thank you. Yeah, honestly wouldn’t wish it on anyone.”

“I’m just not a fan of having my senses dulled,” he replied, shrugging a little as he leaned back against the column he was in front of. “Especially not when parties have been unpredictable.”

Kaspian nodded, “Ah, that makes sense. Good to know you’ll be on guard for the night then?” He gave Leo a smile, “I’m exactly the opposite it seems, I very much enjoy my senses being dulled, but I suppose that’s what happens when you have a sixth senses, everything seems much more intense.”

“Oh, I’m not interested in any of the alcohol. Just the food,” he said as he popped the rest of it into his mouth before wiping at his lower lip. 

“Really? How come?” Kas asked, finishing the rest of his egg tart before realizing Leo may not want to tell his business to just anyone. “If you don’t mind my asking, I don’t want to intrude.”

Leo watched Kaspin try it first and once it got a seal of approval he nodded and then took a bite. He closed his eyes as he hummed with happiness before he nodded his head, “that is delicious. Much better than it looks.”

Kas hummed in agreement, “See sometimes the rich people food isn’t so bad, and they’ve always got good drinks.”

“Stop,” he swatted the other’s hand away from his tie. “It’s just going to get crooked again.”

“Then why dont you just take it off? I didn’t wear a tie and you’d be alot more comfortable, darling. Maybe if you were more comfortable you wouldn’t be so grumpy.”

“Malofy is watching me like a hawk,” she sighed with a frown. “I’ll get murdered if I sneak any alcohol in here.”

“Good thing I’ve got us both covered then, darling.” Kaspin mused, pulling out his flask from his jacket.

Leo tilted his head to the side as he examined an hors d'oeuvres he had taken from a passing tray, “any idea what this is supposed to be?”

“No clue, but they do look delicious.” Kaspin replied with a slight hum, grabbing one as the tray passed as well, and quickly taking a bite. “Oh it’s like a little egg custard type thing. Try it its good.”

“If you’re here about your licence then A) why the hell are you applying for it just now, and B) please just find some intern to take your application,” Jasper did not even look up from for the file for the case he was currently working on. “Is there anything else I can do for you?” he asked, when the person did not seem to pick up on the fact that he didn’t want to be disturbed right now, deciding that it will be easier to just deal with it and then get his moment of peace and quiet.

“Actually I brought some take away to see I you’d like to have a quick lunch with me, but if you’re intent on being all gloomy by yourself I’ll just eat both meals myself.” Kaspian quipped, holding the bag of Chinese take out up with a cheerful smile, trying to liven Jasper’s mood a bit.

“The fact that there’s so many people that need to get obliviated on an everyday basis is what’s giving me gray hairs,” She let out a deep sigh then pressed her index fingers to her temples. “How do people go through life being this stupid?”

“Here’s a thought...just don’t obliviate them? But I guess you have to, since you’re such an obedient servant of the ministry.” Kaspian commented from behind the bar, snakily interrupting her conversation.

“Mm, that’s what I keep you around. You feed me compliments,” she smirked. “I’ll grab a bottle of wine from the back, darling.”

Cassie came back with a bottle, flicking her wand to get two glasses. “So – what did you think about that little stunt at the festival?”

“Here I thought it was for my wonderful company.” He called out as she went to get a bottle, settling in at the a table.
