Home hides behind the lock in my chest.
It is small enough for ignorant eyes to miss,
And so is rarely seen.
You looked into my eyes and
Immediately found it in their reflection.
It came with a key that did not fit.
I keep it around my neck, a reminder
That so much of what I need is in me already
But is out of my reach.
It never crossed my mind that maybe
Those gifts were meant for another.
You were quick to catch it from its chain,
To reveal itβs purpose-
Opening the lock in your chest,
Behind which my home resides.
And so does yours in mine,
The key around your neck made for my skin for the benefit of yours.
And so we fit, key to lock,
Heart to heart, homes for one anotherβs soul.
