They are both characterized with a lot of depth, and this ship really explores what it's like to be raised in the cult of Lolth, and then later be subjected to the cult of the Absolute. How love and life finds a way, but also remains rooted in who these people are and what they've been through. The love story between them is perfectly imperfect, and being together forces them through a lot of growth. Also, the narrative is lovely and beautiful. The writing is superb!
