DELICACY OF AGE⁠ Truckee, CA⁠ Magical Mystery of Monochrome, Day 1⁠ ⁠ I think I'm FINALLY almost done with obligations in my cup-runneth-over 2019! A few more things to cross off the list then it's all Ahhhhhhh for the holidays. :D⁠ ⁠ So I thought it fitting to do a series on the quiet solitude and peaceful simplicity of black and white. I'm gonna call it: "The Magical Mystery of Monochrome". ⁠ ⁠ Though I've photographed my entire life (as did a couple generations before me in my family!), black and white captured my imagination when I was in my 20's. ⁠ ⁠ It always felt mysterious, contemplative, quiet, like solitude, artistic, unforgiving in a cool way, bare. I loved it. I loved creating my black and white prints in the darkroom (at least until the chemicals made me too sick to continue), I loved the way it forced me to make choices, be specific and commit to what I wanted to see and articulate visually. I still love that! ⁠ ⁠ Black and white photography is my roots. It's where I go to cleanse my ocular palette, quiet my mind and stir feelings that I love, but can't quite articulate.
