hi i'm alive (i found my password after i already reset it)
so about a year ago or something now my laptop died and with it went my access to all of my passwords that weren't saved to my google account, and that was most of my passwords. yes i'm well aware that i'm an idiot and i should've had a backup plan for that. fortunately the ssd was perfectly intact and so a couple days (or was it a week or two?) afterwards i got my passwords. unfortunately my password organization is awful and I actually make sure all my passwords are unique so there I was, staring down these passwords thinking "what… what the heck is this for?" and so I procrastinated on figuring which password went to this account because organization be damned, I guess. in conclusion don't do that, actually organize your passwords and keep backups, don't be me.
at some point past me within the last year also decided to write a password purely through nested folders. past me is evil because now I don't know which direction i'm supposed to read the password. so don't do that either.
then like two or three weeks ago I was like "oh yea I should probably write a post-mortem for tabling at con" and so I finally reset the password for this, only to discover a very likely password for this account while i was scrounging around in my passwords folder for something that wasn't even in the folder. screw me I guess.
so to all the people who presumably know me from somewhere that isn't tumblr and therefore already knew about the unfortunate passing of my laptop, now we can get to actually relevant information yep
So about two months ago I went and tabled at a con again (very surprising ik). I was honestly very surprised by the reception, because I thought I'd get less people at my (side of the) table. As cliche as it is, words cannot describe how much I appreciate everyone's feedback. This time and last time, I mainly just wanted to experiencing tabling with my friend, but after this, I'm considering tabling a little bit more seriously and having a nicer setup and everything. perhaps a tablecloth for once. it wouldn't even cost that much. I'm just lazy.
I think something that'll definitely help with the setup is that next time I table I'm probably not gonna be sharing with someone and so i'll have enough room to do more stuff. perhaps another game demo like the first time I tabled and I didn't have anything else to put there. perhaps I will simply have more room to put decorative pieces for displays.
Something else I've been thinking about is "what exactly does one put at their table?" Compared to last time I did prep and order quite a bit more, but since then I've been thinking about what to draw and for what. As much as I wanna double-down on OC stuff, I gotta admit the best choice here is to double-down on the three or four fandoms that I'm the most passionate about, but then am I maximizing profit or am I maximizing personal enjoyment? Should I keep ordering stuff from overseas manufacturers or should I actually invest in equipment? Is it bad for the environment if I sell acrylic keychains??? Am I just convincing myself to switch to more prints and stickers just because I don't want to spend money on shipping??????
regardless I will answer these questions at some point… because another friend has asked me if i wanna table at an event in November and i'm inclined to say yes so i will likely end up at another convention sitting there awkwardly in cosplay and low on sleep as I simultaneously pray that nobody talks to me and that someone comes and buys things from me. at some point I also wanna participate in hosting a stamp rally. maybe one day.
lowkey i've also been meaning to talk to more people, unfortunately my introvert status is terminal. if you reach out first i will most likely respond like a normal person. I promise i don't usually bite.
oh yeah before i forget, i'll be updating a lot of stuff over the next few months because I've been busy irl the last year or two but now i am not busy and so i will make it everyone else's problem by only telling people about what updates will be applied to specific platforms on the platform in question so people who follow me on multiple platforms will have to hunt down relevant information because i simply am evil.
so we are currently on tumblr. i will eventually update the theme for this to a two column or whatever they call it. I'm thinking about mostly posting OC stuff here whenever I get a chance to draw it and of course, the super long posts whenever I think too much about something. although I am thinking about whether or not it would be a good idea to just switch to a fully custom site and just shove in a blog there? definitely would be better for portfolio stuff but that's antithetical to my goal of making it mildly inconvenient for people to learn more about me on the internet even if they are interested and it's otherwise available information. but I do wanna promote my OC stuff more, so idk.
because i don't wanna spam people with unrelated meta posts on itch i'll be nice and tell you my plans for that as well: the same as it's always been (wow!) where i tell you my plans for itch here on tumblr because i don't wanna spam people with unrelated meta posts. yep. shocking information i'm sure. well the overdue updates to things that i announced and unreleased projects will be finished eventually before i ever disappear off the internet. there's also some other stuff i'm working on but I don't wanna show all my cards just yet because it'd be spoilers.
