„See? I told you I’m a quick learner.“
„You’re driving in circles on an empty parking lot. There isn’t anything for you to do wr- WATCH OUT!“ Billy grabs the steering wheel and turns it around in a fast motion, prompting the car to jump to the left.
„Billy!“ you scream, his actions startling you and making you press both of your feet down on the brake. With one last shudder, the car jumps forward and the engine dies down. You turn around to face him and the words barely leave your mouth through your clenched teeth. “What. The. Hell. Was. That?”
“That was the motor dying because you still have a car with gear shift and I don’t see your left foot on the clutch. But hey! This was a good first reaction! Normally people take longer to step on the brake.”
You stare at him blankly. “What?”
“Driving 101. Stupid humans or little children can appear from nowhere and, sadly might I add, it’s your fault when you hit them.”
“Billy!”
“Just kidding,” he raises his hands in surrender. “Anyway. Having a quick reaction saves lives and it wouldn’t really be a lesson if I’d told you to stop, would it? So come on, show me more of your driving skills. Maybe we’ll be able to conquer the streets this time next week.”
“Oh,” you say as you start the car again, ”Don’t worry, we won’t get that far. I’ll make sure to kill us sooner with you as my teacher. So hey, if Lisa or Frank Jr. ever ask you if you could teach them how to drive, send them over to me. I’ll be sure to give ‘em horrible feedback.”
