Thinking about how labels arenโt a thing in Vaugarde and how that can completely fuck a person up. Like. Itโs well intentioned, people can just say โrandom bullshit go!!!!!โ And not worry about it, but for the people who NEED the specifics to their identity it must be HELL (Mirabelle)
Like. IT WORKS SO WELL WITH MIRABELLEโS STORY!!! Mirabelle has religious guilt and thinks she is just broken, because she has absolutely no idea that โaroaceโ exists, and that fucking SUCKS. I like that exclusion of labels CAN affect others, it points out the negatives of a scenario where no labels is the norm. I like that even the religion considered to be โinclusiveโ can still make a person feel alienated. I like that despite everything, the Change belief is still a religion, Vaugarde is still a country very very heavily TIED to said religion, and because of that its rules can be detrimental to its followers.
Itโs so important that the Change belief, a โflawless and inclusiveโ religion, HAS harmful flaws. No religion is truly flawless, and any religion can, even indirectly, cause harm.
And oh dare I say it represents how ignorant certain parts of the lgbtq+ community can be about micro-labels and neopronouns/labels in general but I shanโtโฆโฆ.
