ϟ . “Thanks!” Killua accepts the treat, wasting no time to pry the thing open and help himself to a bite. Ah… that was the good stuff… 

“You like monsters, huh? That’s rare. I don’t even hear kids talk about them, much.” Knee is raised so he could prop his arm over it, he mimics the other’s gesture by twirling the candy with his fingers. “Can’t say I have a preference, myself. So long as either don’t get in my way…”

Just when he was mulling over whether this stranger was trustworthy or not, they began lecturing him on their safety–causing for the boy to stare at him with perked brows. That… caught him off guard. More than genuine concern ought to. 

Guess he wasn’t such a bad guy, after all.

“Uh… yeah.” Oh, right... to him Killua was a defenseless child. “What about you? You’ll leave too, right? Since it’s so ‘dangerous’.”

but honestly,  the way this kid talked,  and acted ?  he was pretty damn cool,  if he had to say so himself.  not that he was ever going to say it out loud though,  of course.  almost reminded him of ... himself,  back in elementary school. quickly shaking off those intrusive thoughts,  garou focused on the task at hand.

on one hand,  he really wanted to just reveal his true identity,  with the possibility of scaring off this ‘defenseless’ kid he had just met.  on the other hand,  he could just hope for the best,  and wait for the kid to leg it before stepping in and hunt on his own.

ah,  fuck it.  he might as well keep up the act.

that was good. having company around made her feel a bit better.  the building she lived in was right outside of a high ranking monster zone, but the rent was cheap! –kana lived on the third floor, in apartment 302. 

opening the door, she kicked off her shoes and shouted. ‘ I’M HOME! ’ although no one was living with her, it just made feel a little less lonely in this small place. –but, it must have seemed weird to him ( an outsider. )

‘ make yourself at home! i’ll bring out some snaaaacks! ’ kana motioned towards the lone kotatsu sitting in the middle of the multi purpose room. there was also a small dresser, and on top of it was a  pink macbook. kana was rummaging through her kitchen selves, where she pulls out some kit-kat bars. ‘ sorry, only got these for now! i was suppose to go shopping later. ’

to be completely and utterly honest with himself,  her talking to herself,  and the basic fact that a young girl like her would be living all by her lonesome was ... disheartening to say the least.  his heart burned-  his will to fight once again renewed.  fight for her,  for people like her.

but for the time being,  it seemed like acting cool was the best option. crossing his arms over that brick wall of a chest of his,  garou quickly found himself alone in the apartment,  left there to look around and take a look at the decor.  cute and cosy.

letting himself flop down on the kotatsu,  garou immediately made himself at home,  leaning back,  ripping the packaging of the kit-kat bar open with his teeth,  taking a bite out of the thing--  not even snapping the pieces one by one beforehand. absolutely chaotic behavior.
