There was a time when I'd see others share pictures of them and their dogs and I'd smile because I knew how amazing that bond felt. Now I see the pictures and I break down. The next time your dog eats your new shoes, or wont stop barking at 3am over nothing or gets muddy pawprints and fur all over your new shirt and you're thinking "damn dog", remember all the times that damn dog was there for you when nobody else. Remember all the times that "damn" dog made you smile and laugh. Remember how much that damn dog loves you even when you don't love yourself. Because god forbid one day it all stops. No more waking up to wet nose kisses. No more coming home to something so excited to see you he damn near knocks you over. No more rolling over in bed and feeling their warmth. Because if you love your dog even half as much as I love Ludo, it will rip your heart out when they're gone. So hug your babies every chance you have. If love alone could've saved you, you'd have lived forever...

It feels good to be back to my free spirited self. Not many people can handle that, truly handle that. Some admire it & some are attracted to it, but even they end up smothering it or try to tone it down. They end up caging it, caging me.
