last night we were at this wedding reception. a non panjabi wedding reception. with family members who did dance performances on Panjabi music. there were atrocities like cheesy choreography, off beat dancing and people just butchering my beloved folk dance, Bhangra. The Bride's family is half Panjabi and the guy's family is Delhi Punjabis. There were a lot of Chicken options in the food and I overheard the guy's sister or something saying "everything is chicken chicken chicken- what do you expect from these panjabis." And then the same bitch danced to "sadi gali" looking like a stiff limbed uncoordinated no rhythm having cunt. and of course, my face was expressing my feelings big time. Me and my sister in law were side eyeing the fuck out of the whole affair. Every attempt of theirs to jack our culture made us embrace our tea-sipping self and it made no difference that we were sitting right next to the groom's family table and laughing it up at their "performance". if you like stupid, imma tell you the truth. YOURE STUPID. STOP APPROPRIATING MY PANJABI CULTURE. Dance to your own shitty Bollywood crap. FOH
