Take a Hint

Hey.

The silence of his room had caused him to grow uncomfortable. Robbie wasn’t use to hearing anything at all, nor was he use to being alone. Throughout the year, he had always been with someone. Now that he was back at the academy, he had to grow use to the norm that the student body was aware of. The school hardly changed; Robbie believed it would while he was absent, however he was proven wrong when he returned. He was glad. His friends were still the same, and the classes along with the homework were horrendous. Robbie wanted to hang out with each of his friends, although he found it difficult. They all had their own agenda. Yet, there was one person who he managed to make plans with — Kailey, a girl that spoke her mind, and was quite strong. She was outspoken and someone he found himself at ease around. He was thankful that she accepted the offer.

Kailey wasn't in any particular rush. It was nice out and although she wouldn't admit it, she was enjoying the break from the campus already. However, after only a few minutes, the impatience started to set in and she found herself growing slightly annoyed as the seconds ticked by. She was debating just going back inside when a voice rang out, pulling her from her thoughts as she turned to find the source and felt her mood grow lighter almost instantly as she raised an eyebrow in response to the joke. "How did you get here then? Did Buckbeak bring you?" No one knew but Kailey was a secret Harry Potter nerd. There were plenty of secrets she kept from everyone but she felt comfortable enough with Robbie to let an occasional one come out now and then. "It's fine. It was only..what....less than five minutes that I was waiting?" Kailey passed it off with a shrug, deciding Robbie didn't need to know that she'd been ready to call the whole thing off. The only reason she'd have even bothered hanging out with him was because he was the only person at the academy that had been pretty consistent in her life. Brooke had disappeared and Kailey wasn't friends with anyone else and even though she could have just left if she wanted to, she didn't feel the urge with at least one decent person around.
