Last year I had the pleasure of animating on the documentary "You Had To Be There" (believe it or not that's the shortened title) directed by Nick Davis, about the 1972 Canadian musical presentation of Godspell played by little known actors like Martin Short, Gilda Radner, Eugene Levy, etc! The musical wasn't filmed, but audio exists, and the animation fills out what was missing in an often surreal style. The animation director want it to look like it was made in the 70's to reflect the time period.
