James just looked at her, he knew that he didn’t always say the right things, or do them for that matter, but it wasn’t something he had a lot of control over yet.

"Try me then... if your own are too hard. I am not mad or upset at you, so why am I upset then?"

As she talked she slowly unwrapped her scarf from around her neck, removed her toque and mittens and then held them out towards the timid boy. 

Jason walked up to the stranger and tugged upon their shirt. He had been out in the cold of Gotham for a while now and he still couldn’t find his parents. He sniffled slightly for the thin jacket he had on wasn’t reliable for the harsh Gotham winters.

    Perhaps lived wasn’t the correct verb for what had changed Grayson because it certainly hadn’t been life at all that had turned off all of those inhibitions, keeping him pleasant with a drive to generally do good. That part of him wasn’t lost in the horrendous cataclysm that had so gracelessly ended his life, no, indeed it was his rebirth that had set to fixing his generally kind demeanor into something more twisted.

         Intentions to clean up the festering underbellies of his cities still remained, but not with the same vice hold that Bruce Wayne’s training had kept upon his boys. Dick no longer felt a need to stop himself from putting a criminal down, especially not when they were repeat offenders that no longer deserved the life they so oft squandered. 

           ”Are you here to stop me?” He murmured without casting his gaze over his shoulder to the shadow looming near. “Because you can just as easily join him if that is what you intend.” Quietly he motions toward the crumpled form upon the floor before finally twisting around to view his stalker, a pleased grin upon his visage. 

Holding her arms behind her back she strolls over to him and his latest victim. Tilting her head she examines his work a silent sorry whispered towards the poor man she was too late to save. Sifting her gaze from the stiff as she had put it earlier to his murderer she wonders what she was going to do. Sure she had come with the intention to help whoever was emitting that level of darkness but she wasn't sure if he could be saved anymore. Biting her lip as her thoughts raced around the possible outcomes for this encounter she hesitates.
