Of course you can say smth like "Oh, they were really good friends" and "Oh their friendship is so cute" but GOD IT'S NOT.

In part they really were good friends. But do u see how hard it was for Gerhard? Just a couple lines from Berger's autobiography when he talks that he can't stand for one more year w Senna. He can't stand his knowledge, his reputation and even his PERSONALITY. Gerhard always felt himself in Ayrton's shadow.

And especially when Gerh said that he respected Ayrton Senna, but the lack of respect for anyone was a big part of him, so with Ayrton he LITERALLY LOST A PART OF HIMSELF. And do u know how Gerhard tried to cope with all this? He used pranks. That silly funny popular pranks, that we all like. Cause it's the only way how he can deal with Senna and be equal.
