Fellow disabled people, what’s one thing you wish kids were taught about disability or a common thing they’re taught that you dislike and why? I’m working on my Girl Scout gold award and need some info/opinions

That not all wheelchair users are paralyzed. The amount of stares i get when i stand up or move my legs, especially from kids, is crazy. I also wish that kids weren't immediately shushed if they try to ask questions to a disabled person. Kids have questions about stuff they dont know, its completely normal, and yet parents act like coming up to me to ask me something about my disability is highly offensive. Or even worse, some parents have a "we dont talk to THOSE people" mentality.

crazy how quickly dust accumulates. i should be allowed to put my trinkets on a shelf and not touch them and they remain in perfect condition forever. dont even get me STARTED on the inside of a computer. why do i have to brush your teeth. youre technology.
