Straight out of Spanish Harlem, New York, dance music prodigy K7, began his musical endeavors in the mid 1990s during which time he released euphonious timeless hits that have become crowd favorites. K7’s “Swing Batta Swing” album went gold and spawned pop hits such as "Come Baby Come", club favorite “Move It Like This”, Yellow Man influenced “Zunga Zeng” and the reworking of Cab Calloway’s hit “Hi-De-Ho” which is notably featured in the movie and soundtrack of “The Mask” starring Jim Carrey. K7's biggest hit, “Come Baby Come”, reached 18 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and rocketed to 3 on the UK Singles chart. In addition, it was included on Tommy Boy's Jock Jams Vol. 1 album, which went platinum, and was showcased in numerous movies such as “I Like It Like That”, “Mr. 3000” and most recently stole the show in the film “Stick It”. Director extraordinaire Hype Williams directed K7's first three singles including “Come Baby Come”. K7 was one of the first artists to work with the movie/video director subsequent to Hype’s career taking off. Prior to his solo success & reinventing himself as K7, he had already established his presence in the pop world as the lead vocalist and songwriter of the prominent Latin freestyle sensation known as TKA. K7, then known as Kayel, wrote, sang and performed20the majority of TKA's biggest hits such as “Scars of Love”, “Tears May Fall”, “Don’t be Afraid”, “Is it Love”, “Give Your Love To Me”, “You Are The One”, “Maria” and “Louder Than Love”. K7 also penned and recorded a song for DJ Skribble's Traffic Jams album titled “I'll Do” and authored songs for other artists including George Lamond’s “More Than Words Can Say” and The Cover Girls’ “If You Want My Love”. In 2002, K7 released an album with his protégé & songwriting collaborator, Tybless, entitled “Love, Sex, Money” which introduced their single “Voulez Vous”. Aside from being a pioneer of dance and hip-hop fusion, K7 spent eight years working as an on air personality for New York’s Hot 97 alongside radio legends such as Angie Martinez, Funk Master Flex and Ed Lover before moving up the dial to the city’s premier dance station, 103.5 KTU, where he worked with greats such as Vic Latino, Speedy, Goumba Johnny and Diane Prior. Throughout his career, K7 has appeared on televised shows such as Showtime at the Apollo, The Arsenio Hall Show, U.K.’s Top of the Pops and MTV's “The Grind” to name a few. He has also been seen with Marc Anthony in the national "I Love NY" campaign commercial following 9/11. K7 has shared the stage with musical superstars such as ‘N Sync, Pussycat Dolls, R. Kelly, Salt & Pepper, Take That, Robbie Williams and Naughty By Nature.
