Gripp is such an interesting character because he is nothing but a mess of contradictions. Hes a self proclaimed coward and yet hes willing to throw himself to the literal unknown without a second thought. Hes selfish by enacting a whole plan that keeps him and mortuga chained to the ocean. And yet he is willing to stay behind and possibly let himself be arrested just to ensure that everyone can be at ease knowing they did everything they could to help mortuga. He leads them into danger (mermaid) and leads them home by giving back the compass.

So I did some pre-transition & mid-transition Godrik doodles while thinking of ideas for that

The Detective Grimoire folks said they were waiting for all the unhinged fan art? How's this?

(I only had a few obscure references for the mermaid, so I had to take some creative liberties. I also made her a lot smaller, like she shrunk or something, similar to Granmamare in the picture I referenced hehe)
