Through research I found artists that inspired me to go ahead with the idea and develop it through natures creations.

For me Seans creativity and vision opened many options of what I could make, another reason why I chose him to be my inspiration for this project is due to the amount of messages his work conveys despite the overall simplicity of his patterns and the material he works with.

I decided to use my other photo of a drainage pattern on the sand with this overlay since it looks like a river delta or an estuary. I felt like a metaphorical approach to these overlays works best because it brings out purpose and feeds the imagination.

This piece is my favorite since the ridges in the sands blend with the map screams vintage and carries a desert vibe. It looks as if the map is 3D and actually shows the tides or erosion levels.

I decided to take a more complex overlay with these two images here and found the reflection effect emphasising to the original sand photo. The mix between the vintage tidal map and the sand almost seem like they're meant to be.

In this overlay I played around with contrast and capacity to create a colourful grain effect which emphasises the vintage map. I really enjoy working with photoshop since there's so many variations of tools to work with.

I used overlay to show the correlations between tidal maps and the sands topography.

On tuesday in studio i made a painting of one of my photos

Today I took a cool photo of a chimney and above it a cloud placed and shaped perfectly making it look like its coming out of the chimney. I got very lucky with place and timing since something like that almost seems planned. I thought it would be a great addition to my “temporary” project.

Last week I designed a tattoo on my friends arm using a marker. I decided to interpret them into my project as i used a black sharpie that would only last for a couple of days. I like the irony of a temporary tattoo and thought it would fit perfectly with my temporary theme.
