Self-portrait done today trying to capture the style of Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, I spent a lot of time looking into his he creates his works, though I found very little information.
My guess is that he uses a complimentary colour to map out his initial drawing on canvas, for the pink skin tone this would be light green.
I liked his approach to paintings in which he is almost colour blocking rather than blending all the times together. This gives a harsh, more immediate effect to me.
For this piece I used "self-portrait with model" (1910) as a colour scheme reference. I focused mainly on the colours used in the face of the model in the background of this painting.
