Paris
I had the opportunity to go to Paris last weekend with my cousin Sophie. My Aunt and uncle made one of my dreams come true. I have always wanted to see the Eiffel Tower, ride on the top of a tour bus and also take the train. I'm so blessed because i was able to do all three of these and more. My family is very generous, not just to family members but people in general. I want to be like this! I pray that i will be able to make someones dreams/dream come true one day.
I went shopping in France today. I thought I got some great deals, until I realized the difference with yet another currency, the Euro. … The Euro and the Swiss Franc are killing my Dollar Bill!
I also thought gas was very cheap here until i find out that they go by liters and not gallons. Gas in Switzerland is about $1.80 a liter, so to fill up my car that holds 12 gallons would be about $82.00 VS the U.S. @ $3.36 a gallon, it would be about $40.00. I was in shock lol this is crazy how different things can be !!

Thanksgiving in Versoix
Yesterday was Thanksgiving, which of course is only celebrated in the U.S. Â My Uncle took me into Geneva and we celebrated by taking a tour of the United Nations and the International Museum of the Reformation. Only a few restraint serve Thanksgiving dinner, so my family and I went to some little Italian place which was very good. Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on the things that you are thankful for. Every year at my house we always write down and say 3 things we are thankful for and then my dad saves and shares what we had wrote years prior to this one. Well this year I have four:
1.      I’m thankful for God's unfailing love.
2.      I’m thankful for friends and family
3.      I’m thankful for having the opportunity I have had to come to Switzerland
4.      I’m thankful for my Uncle Scott and his memory that still lives on today.
I ‘am forever grateful for my time spent here and I will never forget this Thanksgiving!

American Diet VS Switzerland Diet
I have learned very quickly that the American diet of fast food and the quick trip to Wal-Mart to make something that’s instant is nonexistent here in Versiox. The Switzerland diet consists of just a few main things, but many different verities of each, Bread, CHEESE, nuts, vegetables, fruits, and Swiss chocolate. Main meats that I see offered more is salami and fish. There is beef and chicken but it’s not very good. I can truly say that I’m enjoying this :) Coffee is very very strong here I do like coffee in America better.Something that I have noticed is at the schools or on the sidewalks there are no pop or vending machines. I have yet to see anyone drink pop. When you ask for water it’s in a glass bottle and they give you a plastic glass with it. I thought it was just the coffee shop I was at that did this, but it was the same when I went to the movie and asked for water. Things are different here but it’s wonderful.
Switzerland people are very conservative. Everything and I mean everything is closed on Sunday. People seem very nice and welcoming. The driving is insane, everyone drives very small cars. I have never seen so many smart cars in my life. The roads are truly made for one car, but they try to fit two small ones on there. It’s a lot of weaving in and out. There are not a lot of stop lights, instead its roundabout’s, which is kinda fun. You think it’s bad driving with me in the States, imagine me in a small car going around the roundabouts:)
