Elin stood in front of Kai with her hands on her hips as she watched him look at the rug “hey, i do hate the rug but i knew how upset you were and i didn’t like that. I also knew it was my fault so i had to fix things.” she smiled feeling him sway with her “of course, it just means that I get the throne back. I’m officially the head of this household again.”

Elin laughed quietly “Babe, I’m not going to jump out and scare you, just sit down.” she moved towards the center of the living room “you’re right, it’s another bunny. I doubt she ate your sock, it’s probably in my room.” Elin unfolded the rug and held it open “okay…open your eyes!” she said cheerfully.

“And somehow I’m not the least bit surprised by that.” She mumbled, Raine had only known him for a short amount of time but it seemed like every time she saw him he had someway to get on her nerves. The guy was like a walking bad time. “Don’t worry I won’t be waiting around for it. She must be someone special, huh?” This is the first time she actually saw a nice side of him, it was actually a little weird. “You know what, fuck you.” She said with a laugh, how did she get to such a low point in her life that she could actually relate to him. Were they just the two rejects of the island or was this some cosmic joke. 

Elin had been waiting for what seemed like weeks for Kai’s favorite rug to get fixed. It was her bunny who had ruined it and she was doing to do everything in her power to get it fixed. She let Kai think it was ruined because she wanted to surprise him. She had gotten a call that the rug was ready to be picked up, she quickly headed across town to the small shop and picked up the rug before returning home again. Of course Kai had beaten her home so she wasn’t able to lay the rug out and surprise him. “Babe…” she called out from the front door “go to the living room and sit down, close your eyes. I have a surprise for you.”

Raine rolled hers eyes with a huff. “Still would have been polite, but I see now that’s not really your forte. I’ll keep a mental note.” She quickly grabbed the drink after the bartender turned around and took a sip. “Awe, so he does have a heart. Nice to know.” She mocked him, putting a hand over her heart. She really didn’t think he had a soft side but maybe there was more to him. “Well, I found out that my old match, didn’t really want to be my match anymore so he took some government bribe and now I’m stuck with you. Life’s just peachy, you know?”

Raine opened her eyes only to be greeted with Kai looming over her, laughing. She rolled her eyes and raised her middle finger up at him. “Thanks for lending a hand, but no it’s alright. I’ll get up myself.” She muttered as she got back up and sat on the stool again. “I will however take that drink and keep ‘em coming. It’s been a long couple of days but i’m sure you already knew that, right?” She winked at him as she leaned against the bar. 

Kai just sat at the bar and ordered two more drinks as the girl helped himself up. “You are capable of doing it yourself, obviously.” He replied to her and shaking his head. “Yeah, seeing I spent the past week sick in bed with my girlfriend trying to take in me not being able to do anything.  Why have they been long for you?”

Raine stumbled up to the bar, trying to order another drink but the bartender refused. “I think I can decide when I’ve had enough.” She slurred as she plopped down on a bar stool trying to scold the staff but it was clear it wasn’t working. Between the news with Ollie and finding out that that Kai was now her soulmate, Raine was about ready to burst. She didn’t know what to do or how to react, she needed an outlet and for now that was alcohol. “Hey. Hey!” She exclaimed as the bartender started to walk away from her but the jumping around caused her to fall off her stool and straight onto the floor. “Shit.” She said ans she started to laugh. 

 Kai had just begun his drinking for the night, off to the side of the bar in the back where he liked it. It’s not that he minded the crowd he just really didn’t like being in the middle of it where there was more of a chance someone would talk to him. Only when he needed another drink did he go to the bar and as he was going to order he heard a crash next to him. Of course, he recognize the face all too well and started to laugh as he looked down at her. “Looks like you need another drink.” He said always ready to fuel a fire instead of diffuse it. “Get off the floor and I’ll oder you another.”

Elin shook her head “well until your better and you actually come after me I’m going to keep calling you a baby.” she smirked and wrapped her arms around him, pulling him closer to her. “See, isn’t this better than laying on that stupid couch all by yourself?” she laughed softly as her fingers moved through his hair slowly. “The next best thing would be to have our cute little bunny with us.”

Elin thought about it for a moment and shrugged “yes, i guess in some weird way that’s exactly what I’m saying. For once i feel like i have a little power over you. I like seeing you vulnerable.” she knew how screwed up that sounded but it was the truth and she knew only Kai would be able to understand that. “You’re this macho man all the time and it’s nice to see that every now and then you’re a fragile and in need of my assistance.”

Fay let out a small squeak as Kai pulled her back, she definitely hadn’t been expecting him to talk to her at all. “This is where you and I are completely different, I just don’t understand how you wouldn’t potentially just want someone to be nice to you? Why does everything have to be so full of hatred?” She pulled her hand out of his “I just feel sorry for you at this point”.

Elin stood next to the bed and shook her head as Kai spoke “i know i wanted to take care of you but how often do you mope around the house? So I’m going to call you a baby because it’s probably the only time I’ll get to do it.” she raised an eyebrow before sitting down next to him.

“Right” she nodded slowly, she wasn’t one to leave situations like this but she also knew this guy wasn’t ever going to be decent around her “whatever Kai, someone is kind of nice to you and you just blow at them, cool” she spun on her heels and walked towards the checkout.

Fay bit her lip, trying to do her best not to lash out, she wasn’t one to start drama in the middle of the drug store. “What is so fucking awful in your life that you just live to torment everyone else?” she finally spat out.

“Because you look like you’re going to die and i’m way too nice of a person for my own good” Fay let out a long sigh, she didn’t want to be nice to Kai, she wanted to be petty and mean but she couldn’t do it. 

Fay rolled her eyes and turned to leave him there, the last thing that she needed was for Kai to be making fun of her every three seconds, the hormones were making her feel crazy enough. She was trying to go but her conscious got the best of her and she turned back around, grabbing a box off of the shelf and holding it out to him “this will help, Kai”.

“I always expect you to be an asshole, that’s the one thing your good at.” She couldn’t help but laugh a little “i don’t think you’ll ever surprise me by being nice, if you did it would be the end of the world.” she kissed the top of his head and jumped out of the bed “that’s my que I’m guessing.” she spoke as she made her way into the kitchen. After a few minutes of heating up the soup she made her way back into her bedroom, a tray of soup, orange juice and medicines in hand. “Anything else you need, you big baby of mine?”

“I figured you weren’t done.” she replied before bringing her hand up to the back of his neck, running her fingers through his hair “i know you feel shitty and you don’t want me bitching at you. I just wanted to help you feel better.”
