i genuinely hate x readers with older characters where the reader always acts immature and childish girl give me my old couple 40 years of marriage knowjng everything about one another kisses on the forehead enjoying each other's silence and company, having eachothers habits etched into your being to the point of even twirling your hair like your lover, being so devoted to eachother for so long that the borders of appeasing anyone else romantically by being masculine or feminine enough become arbitrary and useless
I have like five tumblr's for specific fandoms and I don't want to add another but I also have multiple fics for Chris Redfield like erm
Dude heath ledger holy shit
WHDAHDASHDH having no wifi for three days had me writing sm fics my other blogs have been fed consistently.

yapped about httyd w a friend and she brought up how it was shown multiple times that hiccup knows the timing of toothless' blasts and if you connect it to the second movie when hiccup told stoick to stay there??
he knew the timing of the blasts, he could have jumped away last minute- but stoick didnt know that. He just wanted to save hiccup
makes it a LOT more sadder and yk... hiccup's internal angst
I really love the idea for giving them dragon tattoos🐉
MWAH HEATHER?!?!?! UGH I LOVE THIS SM

Why no one talks about astrid being so protective and caring about ruffnut in "snuffnut" episode???? I mean when throck starts talking about kidnapping ruff and making her his wife against ruff will astrid basically wants to kill him with her axe c'mooon. she is just so cute and btw I watch rtte by the first time sooo. I can't believe that my girls are not best friends as they are two girls surrounded by 4 boys 😭
Rtte is so engraved in my bones that whenever someone points out how something didn't make sense or a plot hole I just. Have to agree. I've spent years watching and dissecting this I unfortunately know everything wrong with it. thats still my wife though.
Like how people know the names of dragons that the riders specifically named??? How do you know what the death song is called??? Or night terrors??? How do you know what a night fury actually looks like?? (Sure you could use context clues, but c'mon) why do half the hunters not know shit about dragons despite hunting them being their livelihood???
I ask myself all these questions as I sit down for my billionth rewatch.
THEM 🫶
i love them
I love Astrid so much as a character because she WAS the first one to change her mind. She was the best warrior yes, but she did that because that's the only one she knew how to protect Berk. But as soon as she saw another way, she immediately took it. Because yes, she believed in Hiccup and that meant SO MUCH. Enough for him to STAY and fight. Legit her being the FIRST one to believe in him LITERALLY saved everyone. Cause Hiccup was about to DIP.
It's so significant that she was the one to change her mind. I don't thin anyone else could've done it but her, cause I think she and Hiccup BOTH love Berk yes, but Astrid, given that she had no other outlet to stop this war, was about to do anything as well to protect it, including killing dragons.
It's understated so much how Hiccup and Astrid's relationship in the first movie is so significant for the future (I mean this beyond shipping btw) Cause Astrid being Hiccup's ALLY, was MORE significant for him than her being someone he's romantically involved with. She was his ally FIRST, and THAT to me was the BEST thing she could've been to him at the time.
I love Astrid in the first movie so much because it shows what she's willing to do to save Berk, and I'm not saying Hiccup DIDN'T want to save Berk, but not for Astrid changing her mind BECAUSE of her love for Berk, Hiccup REALLY would've left just like Valka... Who know what would've happened with him after that. And we see this VERY CLEARLY in the single best thing Astrid's been characterized in this franchise: Gift of the Night Fury.
in GOTNF, we see Astrid at her BEST after HTTYD1, we get to see her relaxed and actually active in trying to cheer everyone up, we get to see her TRUE personality in times of PEACE, and those are GREAT, she's so cheerful and active and PRESENT. SHE came up with Yaknog, SHE came up with the egg presents, SHE was decorating the village. We see her devotion to Berk and her loyalty and see her be HERSELF because of herself. I love her so much there (and yes even in HTTYD2 we get to see some of that cheerful personality and I also love that tbh)
I love, love, LOVE astrid hofferson studies and rambles in this website
Live action httyd has its good moments, but it would have been better if it was instead, an actual original movie BASED on the httyd movie franchise universe :((
dont @ me guys, i reblogged other ppls thoughts on la movie, and that was bcz i agree on
a) live action good
Its good. Really. Truly. As a fan for a long while, its good BUT
b) live action bad
lorewise, the la changed sm of the original that made sense, which is explained by other ppl who are much more salty than i am
c) what do you people want from a live action?
for those cashgrabbing companies to stop making them. If theres no middle ground in pleasing the masses, then stop doing it? No one asked for the live actions of loved movie franchises, and with how many times it was done, with multiple iterations and they STILL get harsh backlash?
Thats your sign, back off from the live action movies and start being original *cough* Disney *cough* dreamworks.
The movie is good- but only if it was a movie that was original, and was not tied to an already good franchise.

I did say I was neutral to the LA movie of HTTYD, and really, it was all because I loved the cinematography. Atleast what I could see of it. But now, after contemplating, It's a blatant crashgrab and its soooo... haaaaa. I dont know. I don't hate the actors, some did amazing, others not so much, but its not me hating on them.
I love the tiny tidbits that they add, the snotlout depth, the amazing bg's.... but the direction, the pacing, the way lines were directed to be delivered... they were all.... ugh. And this isn't exactly my biggest gripe, I could not see shit.
It's probably because I'm someone who wears glasses, but I could not make out ANYTHING from scenes in the night, and by god, I HATED THAT.
Another thing, is the change of time during the scene where Hiccup shows the other teens the dragons so they could catch up. It was night, I can't see shit, but that made things confusing. Because what, Hiccup waited until NIGHT, to get the dragons and the teens to the NEST? NIGHT??? Really???
It didn't make sense. They removed the part where Hiccup realized that dragons arent fireproof inside, so it doesnt make sense that he was able to defeat the red death.
I would have a loved a LA movie of HTTYD... if it expanded on the characters WELL, on the world BETTER, and hey! Maybe be a make-up for the third movie.
All in All, live action movie? disappointing, blatant cashgrab, #hate the companies who dont value the movies they make.
Oh, to be Hiccup walking with his daughter through the woods, when she finds a little bird on the dirty ground. She looks at it, observing, trying to know what to do. With a little voice, she asks "Can we help him?".
Hiccup is filled with nostalgia within seconds, being back in a simpler time, where his father was invincible and the strongest man alive. He remembered saying the same thing, almost begging his father for another option besides ending it. Because that couldn't be the only option.
The sight his father gave was felt in his bones. The anxiety he felt, in his stomach doing strange things while his father looked at the bird.
When he agreed, Hiccup felt lighter. Hope that there was more to choose.
He took care of the little bird for two weeks before getting was finally cured, and he remembered his father's face when they released the animal back to nature. It was soft, almost like he was happy because of it.
His father's words when they took the bird in were carved in his bones, though. What probably made him who he was.
He remembered Toothless, the first time he saw him. Haggard, trapped, lost. And it was his fault. He did that to him – and he'd always regret that, even after coming to terms with it. First, we take responsibility.
He worked so hard to find a way to fix his mistake, but when he did and Toothless still stayed, he understood what his father actually meant.
Then, you care for him. The nights they passed with each other, little moments of care between Hiccup and Toothless. They were always caring for each other, with little and simple gifts, acts. A love forged between them.
Hiccup passed almost 6 years with Toothless, but it felt so much more. A lifetime, even. His presence constant, everywhere he went, there he was. He couldn’t talk, but they communicated better than most talking creatures did.
And, finally, you return it to the wild. But Toothless couldn't stay. Hiccup knew it even before all the chaos came to berk and they had to run. Even though he denied it, he knew it for so long.
He wanted to have faith, humanity could change. Berk did, his father did. But there was always someone looking for war, power. And the dragons always ended up hurt, slaves, or killed by them.
He did everything he could to find a way for Toothless to fly on his own. Working exhaustively until it worked.
When he last hugged Toothless, he almost didn't let it go. He felt his warmth, his claws digging into his shoulders like he also didn't want it. But it was for the best. Hiccup cared for him so much, loved him so deeply, that if his safety was in letting him go, he was willing to make it happen.
It felt like someone had stabbed him when he watched Toothless flying away. A deep cut that'd never close.
Hiccup felt dizzy with all those memories. Took a deep breath, one, two times, and finally, knelt near his daughter.
He put his hand on her shoulder, pressed slightly while he looked at the little animal, and then back to her. Oh, how he wished his father could meet her. How he longed for Toothless to get to know her.
But now, all he could do was pass on their teachings.
"Yeah, can you get me a stick?"
