Sometimes, I get asked (lets face it:often) whether I am a Microsoft or an Apple fan.

To settle all those questions:

I am a Google fan.

Microsoft's time came and went. Apple isn't open enough for my tastes. Google is the future. Microsoft is not, Apple maybe, Google has at least the next 5 years as (a) king of the industry. It continues to make great products (I prefer google docs over word) and continue to improve on those products. The only reason for me not to like google is they killed wave and labs :S but they did that for the best, and they probably wouldn't have lasted very long anyway.

Google is now. Microsoft was then, even though they still manufacture software (but, really, all the OS is at this point is a jumping-off to the Internet, with a few things to do if you get disconnected). Apple is not THE player in the industry now, even though they still continue to manufacture great products.

Now for the story!

The Thunderbirds fly overhead, trumpets sound their songs, and I feel wind blasted over my head and I taste the bittersweet joy of their graduation.

This isn't just a graduation ceremony, at least to me. Although outwardly I force a smile, inside my heart is dark with unhappiness. I begin to tear up, and the audience that is surrounding me, the mothers and fathers of all those graduating, are so immensely happy and naive that they mistake them for tears of joy. They are drunk in their moment of happiness, and I allow them to mistake the tears for joy. I would never wish upon someone the feeling, this feeling, that I feel right now.

Taps begins to play. The generals tone turns grave as he begins to read out three names;, my brothers, my best friends, and then,

mine.

Standing on the sidelines, I quickly hobble outside (I was going for a run, but that is difficult to do with a prosthetic) as he begns to tell everyone to lowers their heads for these three brave souls.

I am forcing myself to write! Super short stories every weekday for a while! Then I will post them to here my queue! So be on the watch for a new story for a very long while!
