〜 "Noisy. Noisy. So noisy..." Ishmael muttered under her breath while slouching over a cup of coffee. She'd gotten up early to come to this cafe before it got busy, but now there was a young woman causing a ruckus at the front counter over something. She didn't really know over what. She didn't really care.

She added to the clerk's woes in the end, standing up loudly and groaning vigorously. But then she walked over to the counter.

working at masters cafe gave her somewhat of a small, though stable income. but when it came to spending it all responsible way, well there was always room for improvement. she was making a scene, but like her usual demeanor she did not care at all. she was going to keep complaining until someone put their foot down and either kicked her out; or paid for her.

' ehh? and who do you think you are? '

If anything an actual physical attack from Mika was going to probably have more of an impact then that. Of course the one day she decided to leave her actual weapon at home was the day it was needed. An unfortunate scenario but one the student couldn't just wish herself out of..

her sarcasm was thick, partially already ignoring what the other said as she picks up an already pointy, rather large stick (though some may call it the trunk). she wasn't as strong as she used to be, but that wasn't going to stop her from doing what she could.

' if it's the volcano pissing them off then we better get somewhere safe soon, unless you're someone that likes getting melted or crushed by giant burning rocks. '

but as much as she loved fire, she wasn't in the mood to be killed, even if that would possibly solve all of her problems. at this point it was like every other special rayshift she's done, only being powerless and unable to do anything. if this whole thing was the sole doing of da vinci and her sick idea of a joke, we'll then she's probably the only one laughing.

Not that Mika was too surprised with everything happening. It had become too commonplace for something to go dreadfully wrong in this city. She just never thought it'd take place on a somewhat decent looking island. Then again those the disaster movies did always point to these being the biggest location. So maybe the cruel joke came in the island's inhabitants.

...Which were very clearly alive prehistoric creatures. And she doubted anyone was going to give her an answer nor was the individual she woke up next to. So all of this was yet again a painful experience in the making.

"You aren't actually used to this right? I mean that was a Pterodactyl or something? Did it go for you or me? Do you even know where to go from here?"

' this is bullshit. '

she kicks a rock, sending it flying off in a random direction. now on top of being powerless she found herself on some random island with dinosaurs of all things. was there anything that would go her way for once, or was she just stuck at the whims of whomever got bored one day and decided to make her life more difficult?

' gonna murder everyone that put me here. '

now on top of being stuck on an island with dinosaurs she was stuck with some random child that she had to watch out for too.

it shouldn't be surprising. she has learned that this city and its rulers were more than capable of raising the dead, bringing back what was lost as if it never left in the first place. even so, the sight of the usually dour-expressioned maiden was enough to startle the lancer into a moment of confusion. but then, she recovers flawlessly, as one expects a king to. what follows is a drawn out sigh as she approaches Jalter, raising a gloved hand to rest atop her shoulder.

" It would be wise for you to stop now." a pause as emerald eyes glance down at the steaming indent in the snow before them, the scent of what she gathered to be some sort of spicy soup filling her senses. " There's no way to recover it. "

this city hates me and i hate it

she was emotionless, like a doll with its strings cut. where once she would boil over with rage she instead found herself looking down at the scene of the crime; the soup she had waiting so long for, still steaming as the heat from it melted the snow around it. she didn't even care that the lancer put her hand on her shoulder, or even that it was another servant she was meeting for the first time. all she cared about was the soup that once was.

ever since the spring, it happened every time she laid her eyes on the Count. it's not the sort of thing she could just.....talk about, let alone explain. it's a lingering pain, an hole inside of her chest that no amount of time could ever heal. she wonders if this is how Saber or Goetia felt– having to look at someone they love, knowing what was to come yet being unable to say a single word. some futile attempt at sparing an unavoidable pain.

and now, it seems, she'll experience the same each time her eyes come across Jalter.

she mumbled those words to herself, not wanting to let anyone else hear them. and there was that smile. the same smile she'd see every day back in chaldea no matter what had happened. it was comforting to a degree, seeing that smile and knowing everything would turn out fine no matter the situation they found themselves in.

but it held a sadness that was new to her like looking at the ghost of someone long gone

regardless of anything she was happy to see master, cracking a small smile that she hid as she turned around to enter the shop. It was small and looked as though it had existed for some time, which begged the question as to just how long she had been here.

' so...... is this your shop? '

it didn't take much to tell, seeing fou in the background being fou was all she needed to know. it was more a way for her to awkwardly start some kind of conversation.

And if one didn't then there was a pretty likely chance they'd be miserable for a majority of their time here. Not that Mélusine would've cared either way if they sulked all the time. But it was more of the destructive tendencies that would no doubt cause more problems for their Master and others where she felt the need to get involved.

"Plenty of others including them. If I recall even that Count of your same class is here as well. Even some that have mage potential that don't seem to be from our world as well." Hard to really get an exact number especially seeing as it wasn't just their world they were drawing people from.

' that's not— screw it, nevermind. '

she wasn't going to get caught up explaining to mesuline what saying meant. that'd only cause her more of a headache than she already felt. once she was done rubbing her templates she sighed and took another good look around them. the other had a point, and as much as she wanted to burn the city down and be done with it there wasn't much she could do aside from kill time.

' really, he's here too huh? '

a slight chuckle as she tossed a few ideas around in her head before turning her attention back to the other.
