“  wow,  ”  he  replied  dramatically,  hand  still  holding  his  phone  paced  on  his  chest.  “  what  have  i  ever  done  to  you  to  get  this  kind  of  treatment?  ”  he  was  ninety  percent  sure  he  had  never  done  anything  to  the  woman,  or  at  least  it  didn’t  ring  a  bell,  but  he  could  never  reach  that  100%.  “  do  you  mean  more  than  having  this  face  and  magnetic  personality?  ”

jackson  rolled  his  eyes.  there  was  no  part  in  him  that  believed  his  older  brother  would  be  any  help  with  his,  still,  he  allowed  the  phone  to  be  taken,  not  entirely  worried  about  what  the  other  matthew  could  say  or  do  with  it.  “  what  can  i  say?  bitches  see  this  face,  they  go  crazy.  it’s  ok,  i  know,  big  brother,  you’re  more  used  to  having  to  chase  them,  ”  he  teased. 

“  it  seems  like  no  one  around  here  can,  ”  he  sighed,  faking  deep  disappointment.  “  i  guess  this  is  the  sort  of  problem  only  a  few  of  us  have.  staggering  good  looks  can  be  a  curse,  my  friend,  ”  he  added  cockily.  “  i’ve  tried  that,  but  this  one  doesn’t  know  what  be  gone  thot  means,  i  guess.  ”

he  tilted  his  head,  taking  the  suggestion  into  consideration  before  shrugging  and  allowing  his  fingers  to  type  the  message.  “  if  this  works,  you  will  be  my  new  favorite  person.  might  even  offer  to  buy  you  some  coffee.  ”

jackson  nodded  along  with  the  girl’s  plan,  it  did  sound  like  a  good  enough  option.  and  he  was  ready  to  try  anything  at  this  point,  this  crazy  girl  was  gonna  end  up  ruining  his  chances  with  her  friends.  “  okay,  but  i  have  a  better  idea.  how  about  you  do  it?  ”  he  asked,  already  handing  her  the  phone.

eyes  shifted  from  the  phone  to  the  blonde  at  the  sound  of  the  familiar  voice,  a  smirk  tugging  at  his  lips  without  any  prior  consent.  “  would  i  ever  do  that  to  you?  ”  he  asked  playfully.  jackson  was  in  no  way  read  or  willing  to  put  a  name  to  this  thing  they  had,  and it  was  better  that  way,  but  no  matter  how  many  other  people  he  ended  up  hooking  up  with,  he  always  ended  up  back  to  amber.  “  you’re  right  i  like  being  your  side   hoe  too  much.  just  don’t  let  jesus  find  out,  ”  he  teased.  “  i  did.  three  times  already.  ”

“  i  thought  that  was  pretty  obvious?  ”  he said,  words  spoken  slowly.  it  still  amazed  him  when  obvious  jokes  went  straight  over  people’s  heads.  “  i  do  not  know  that  song,  but  i’m  assuming  i  wouldn’t  want that.  ”

“  the  bad  kind  too,  ”  he nodded.  there  were  plenty  of  girl  problems  we’d  jump  right  in,  this  was  not  one  of  those.  “  you  know  what?  that’s  actually  a  pretty  solid  idea.  how  about  iceland?  ”  considering  the  idea  more  than  he  should.  “  i  could,  but  i’m  not  cops  biggest fan,  and  i  don’t  think  they’re  mine.  they’d  probably  think  this  is  my  fault  somehow.  ”

“  i  was  straight  and  she  reacted  with  ‘  you  don’t  know  what’s  good  for  you  ’,  which  i’m  not  sure  if  i  should  take  as  a  threat  or  not,  ”  he  paused.  

brown  hues  fell  to  his  phone  as  it  beeped  for  what  it  seemed  to  be  the  hundredth  time  in  the  past  ten  minutes.  it  was  really  starting  to  annoy  him.  “  what’s  the  easiest  and  most  effective  way  to  get  rid  of  a  girl  that  won’t  stop  texting  you  and  is  living  in  some  crazy  fantasy  where  you  two  are  actually  a  thing?  asking  for  a  friend.  ”  you’re  nice  to  a  girl  once  and  that’s  what  he  got.
