#listened to the album and honestly not really sure how i feel about it#i think a lot stems from just unfamiliarity with the genre so i feel like#my opinions arent based off of anything concrete? LOL#im actually surprised that minghao said that he let vernon kind of take the lead for the musci stuff while he took the lead for more visual#aspects of promotions#cuz in a lto of ways to me this album feels like a very minghao album and im almost like#struggling to see vernons voice but thats also probaby because i dont know what it is as much#because minghao has been pretty vocal about it since forever like bro his clap remix from cyzj coulda been on this album#and vernon? idk haha maybe hes been more vocal and i just dont know bc i dont follow them as closely as i used to#its a pretty nostalgic sound i was also surprised when minghao was like i want fans to be exposed to this kind of music and culture as well#when to me a lot of the songs were like oh i listened to things like this in the early 2010s yaknow#i think was also expecting smth a little more niche haha but its definitely a very digestable album#truly do appreciate that between the both of them there were three languages in almost every song#i will say i walked away from this album with a very heavy drive to start learning mandarin so i can understand what the8 is saying LOL#like whne i first started learning korean it was more to be able to understand videos without needing subtitles but an unintended but very#appreciated side effect of that was oh now i can understand lyrics and boy did that elevate my kpop experience#translations can only do so much you can really hear someones voice in their lyrics or apreciate the genius in phrases#connecting to indivdiual words or even grammatical suffixes like it goes DEEP and only possible because i am amble to understand the langua#rambles#dl
