Track 1 - それでも好きでしょう？

0:18 - So you're awake? Yeah, this is my house. You're making a face like you don't know why you're here. As I thought, you don't remember, do you? You're the one who called me and told me to come get you.

0:43 - You remember that your agency had a music festival today, right? You got drunk at the after party, and just like you did before, you called me to complain. Looks like you remember now.

Track 2 - Your My Sugar

0:08 - Yeah, that should be ready. You've gotten pretty skilled at this. Compared to when you first came to me and asked me to teach you how to bake, you improved a lot. It's not like you're bad at cooking in the first place, and you pick things up quickly. It makes teaching you worthwhile.

0:37 - Nn? Oh, how I got started not just with cooking but baking sweets? I made cookies and cakes just like this a long time ago. When I was practicing cooking in the kitchen, my little sister would come and pester me. Kids are honest. If it tastes good, they’ll happily tell you. If it’s bad, they’ll say they don’t want it.

1:14 – The only time I failed at it was when I first started. But after that I caught on and completed something my sister really liked. I realize that I hate losing, but thanks to that, I’m able to teach you now. So it’s not something I can get rid of.

Track 3 – 夏の約束

0:05 – Sorry for inviting you to Kyoto so suddenly. I’ve been busy lately so I haven’t been able to contact my family much. My grandmother often asks me to come and visit, but I didn’t think my older sister would ask me to bring you along too.

0:28 – You had to go out of your way to make time for this, didn’t you? Thank you. It’s already evening but I finally get to spend time with you. Whenever I come to visit, I have to make rounds greeting everyone. It’s such a pain that sometimes I don’t come.

0:53 – While I was tied up, you went out with my sisters, right? They were really happy about that. It seems like they really like you. Ah, you went out to Arashiyama(1)? It wasn’t crowded, was it? That’s right, it’s a little ways off from the regular tourist season, so it might not have been as bad.

1:26 - After you ate udon, you walked through a bamboo thicket and stopped at a Kanmi Dokoro(2) and had green tea amitsu(3)? *chuckle* All you did was eat, but as long as you enjoyed yourself that’s what matters.

1:45 – Summer? Oh, you heard about Tourou Nagashi(4)? I’m sure you already heard from my sisters, but it’s a yearly ceremony for the purpose of sending off the spirits of the deceased. The lit up lanterns floating on the water’s surface are beautiful, but… are you interested in that?

2:13 – I see. There will be a lot of people, but the ceremony doesn’t start until evening. If you wear a hat, they might not recognize you. If our agencies will give us permission, then I’d be happy to take you to see it.

2:35 – That’s right, in the summer there’s more than Tourou Nagashi that we could enjoy. If there’s some other event you want to go to… The festival at the shrine? Are you talking about the one we went to together before? No, we can go. I was also thinking that I’d like to go with you again.

Cultural Notes:

(1) Arashiyama is a district on the western outskirts of Kyoto and is one of the tourist hotspots in the region. MC had never been to Kyoto before she went and met Shinobu’s family for the first time, and in the game she often spoke about how she wanted to see more places in Kyoto. This is most likely why his sisters took her there.

(2) Kanmi Dokoro is a café that features Japanese-style sweets.

(3) Anmitsu is a popular Japanese desert made with agar jelly.

(4) Tourou Nagashi is a ceremony performed on the evening of the final day of Obon. Obon is a three day long festival that begins the 15th of August in the Kansai region where Kyoto is located.

Track 4 - 手のひらの微熱

0:07 – There we go. You seem to be sleeping well. The water’s gotten lukewarm already, should I go ahead and change it…? Ah, did I wake you up? Your fever still hasn’t gone down. You don’t need to force yourself to sit up.

0:33 – Good girl. I heard you haven’t been feeling well since yesterday. Narumi told me that even during a teacher's lecture you were spacing out. I’m not angry. I was just worried when I heard.

1:01 – You had work that you couldn’t miss, right? You give everything your all to the bitter end. Yeah, my work’s already over for today. When I heard about you being laid up in bed, I had them drop me off with Narumi. I wanted to see your face.

1:31 – I feel better now that I see it wasn’t as bad as I thought. You had a lot of photo shoots and recordings, right? You really did your best the whole way through. If you want to cry, you can. You don’t need to pretend to be strong in front of me.

3:39 – Here, go ahead and eat. You want me to feed you? You’re sure acting spoiled. Is it because you have a fever? I don’t dislike it. I was thinking it was kind of nice. I’ll feed you, here.

4:11 – It looks like you do have an appetite. After you finish the apple, take your medicine. Of course it’s bitter. That’s why they say “good medicine tastes bitter.” Plus, if you’re sick like this, it’s hard on me. I hope you get better soon.

4:40 – You’re going to take the medicine? Yeah, I have water here for you. Finished? Then you should lie back down. I can’t stay over, but I’ll stay until you fall asleep. Don’t look so sad about it or I won’t want to go home.

Track 5 –ロマネスクは遠く

0:06 – That was a big yawn. You probably got sleepy from taking a warm bath. Sorry for doing this when you came to stay the night, but I can’t go to sleep yet. You don’t have to force yourself, go ahead and go to sleep. What? You’re glancing over at me.

0:34 – You can’t sleep? Ah, you’re curious about what I’m looking at? I’m doing an acoustic arrangement for our next live show. Next time we’re doing a rehearsal in the studio, so I was checking the score.

0:56 – Your eyes lit up, I guess you’re not tired anymore. Do you want to have a look? It’s not a secret. You’re curious about it, right? It’s difficult to see just looking at it from the side. If we do it like this, with me hugging you from behind, it’s easier for both of us to see it.

2:13 - The sound of a drum kit overpowers the other instruments in an acoustic performance. So the cajón is often used in place of it. Me? I play the bass like always. I thought about attempting the double bass, or more commonly known as the contrabass. But the style is too different and it would take too much time to learn how to play it.

2:45 – You want to see me try to play it? Yeah, I am interested. Since you don’t need electricity for it, you can play it anywhere. Do you also want to try playing some other instruments besides the guitar? You’re brimming with curiosity.

1:19 – Good morning. It tickles. This is unusual, you rubbing my head. My hair? Ah… I guess it has started to grow down past the nape of my neck. Am I going to grow it out like before? I hadn’t decided. I don’t mind either way. Yuki said when he sees my hair short it reminds him of the past, so occasionally he pulls a face at me.
