He lit a cigarette and took a drag. “You said you were looking for the cause of the disappearances?” The vampire asked, turning away. “It is me.”

"Then you're an idiot" She told him before asking, "Vampire, right?"

Anthony scowled. “I mean, you don’t look like a construction worker; hell, you don’t look the part of anyone who would be working here.” He pointed out.

Heidi didn't like how this conversation was turning out, it wasn't his business. "What are you doing here?"

"You don’t look the part." he pointed out, eyes narrowing. "What are you truly here for?"

"What do you mean I don't look the part?" It wasn't a complete lie, she was asked to check out disappearances, this was her work.

"Ugh." He said. "Fuck you seem like a good leader how come everybody I come up to with the exact leadership qualities fails to join?"

"Have you tried changing the pitch?" It wouldn't kill her to be helpful towards the so called ruler of the underworld.

She turned to the girl and furrowed her brows. Heidi thought for a moment before saying, "Yeah, I guess so."

His arms folded over his chest, a scowl adorning his face. “And why have you come here?” The young vampire motioned around at the rubble of the abandoned construction site.

Heidi rolled her eyes before looking away from the man and answering "Work. You?"

"I’m not here to kill anyone. Since I ripped Satan apart along with his kin, I seized control. I look for an assistant, as every king needs a queen by his side." He said.

"Really?" she asked in disbelief, the amount of times she had heard that in her life. "Well, good luck with that."

Ruler of the underworld? She took a deep breath and tried to steady her voice, there was no way she was going to show her fear. "Scared? Who says I'm scared?"

A furnace large and old rose from the ground. As the screams of the damned echoed out of it. A man stepped out. Glowing firey eyes, slicked back blonde hair, and a glare that could give people heart attacks. The man stepped out from the flames. Untouched. “You. Where am I?” He asked.

Heidi looked at the man and took a step back. Wishing that she had brought something at least useful along with her. Keeping an eye on the man she told him "Hillsboro, Oregon."
