So, I beat the second fight against Uzuki and Kamiya a little while ago, and it was...interesting.
I now present a direct quotation of my Discord crashout:
And I beat the Uzuki and Kamiya fight, it was hard so it took many tries and I was so happy that I got past it…and then I have to do it all over again just like ten minutes later, except it’s HARDER
As if to rub in how I’m not good enough
“Oh, that fight? That was just a warmup for the real fight? What, you struggled with the first fight? The baby fight? How could you possibly struggle with that? Why can’t you just get gud?”
And they won’t stop MOANING
All their battle quotes have been replaced with grunts and moans because they’re brainwashed, and they say battle quotes so fast in this game (“zetta slow” for example) so it’s just a constant cacophony of moaning
But I had to turn the sound off because the moaning was getting on my nerves even more than zetta slow
The touch controls feel even more unresponsive than ever, and the patterns feel like bullet hell
Are they expecting Neku to move and attack at the same time? God I wish he could do that, he’s so zetta slow
I try to move him, it takes forever. I feel like half of my taps and drags aren’t recognized by the game, I have to spam tap my healing to get it to activate once and then it gets intercepted by the bullet hell and I can’t dodge it and Neku is too busy getting hit to move and Beat keeps going off and staying put somewhere or randomly ceasing to attack like god damn it beat DO SOMETHJnG
And yes, I’m playing on Switch, sue me
If I’m struggling this much with the battle system on one screen, I could never handle it on two screens at once
I just don’t know how I’m supposed to beat these guys
And then there’s gonna be the fucking zetta slow guy again soon, I love him but god that battle took me forever the first time, and Joshua was easier to control than Beat
And I guess I have to bite the bullet and go to easy mode? God that feels like admitting I’m a little girl who needs her hand held playing video games
My coordination is completely fucked up
(At this point, another person in the server suggested I try crowd control)
My strategy has been to stunlock
Especially when I can’t get beat to attack
(The guy wondered if the Switch version has performance issues the DS version doesn't)
I think it’s less a matter of jank and more just me having shit reflexes lol
I can’t even text without making tons of typos
I have to have autocorrect on all the time
(They mentioned a postgame challenge dungeon)
Fuck no, I can’t even get through the main game without raging

(While I lost some more, they said that the difficulty slider exists to be used and that cranking it up is for grinding, not bosses)

Guess they don't call it easy for nothing
Now, if I was a classic gamer, I would go back and try to see if I could beat it on normal, and try it over and over again until I’ve got it, but I’m not a classic gamer so I’m not doing that again

Starting to wonder if playing basically nothing but various Pokemon games and spinoffs until I was a teenager intrinsically fucked with my non-RPG aptitude lol, like I started too late to make a difference or something...
