Good Always Triumphs!

"Oh! Hi Kellam! I didn't see you there!"

“Yahoo!”

Cynthia’s cry echoed through the valley as her pegasus glided through the skies. The grass was shining under the sun’s light as it danced along with the breeze. It was yet another exciting day for adventure! This wasn’t just any adventure, however. It was only a few hours ago when she came across that sorta-kinda shady stall in the market, but… well, that story could be told another day. What mattered the most was the reward she reaped, a brand spankin’ new treasure map! With map in tow, she accidentally landed her pegasus right on Milly, who just so happened to be working on some spells.

“Alright, I’ll just get some supplies really quick, and them I’m off…!” The young pegasus knight started making her way back to her tent, glancing at the drawings on the map every now and again. “… These things are harder to read than I thought…”

Her surprise was promptly interrupted by her tripping over a rock and falling flat on her face, evading the ball of fire in the nick of time. She quickly recovered, getting back on her feet.

"And here I thought I could take a break without having to worry about villains like you!"

Though the lack of pirates and bandits was a slight disappointment, Cynthia was always glad to help anyone in need! And especially cool, mysterious travelers! With a quick whistle, her pegasus took off to the skies. In these new heights, Cynthia could see the whole valley right before her.

She steered her pegasus back, flying away from the dragon. Cynthia managed to make her way back towards the man, her eyes still fixed on their scaled foe.

“Well, I’ve got a whole list of them, how about you just tell me which one you like the best?”

Nostalgia bore itself more or less gently into Gerome’s mind; Feathered wings, her never-fading smile… Even back then she had been obsessed with getting him to do things that he did not want to do, and somehow, she had always convinced him.

These were different times however… he had gotten rid his fears on way or the other, locked them away for noone to ever set free again. If that meant making a few silly sacrifices, so be it. He had set himself a mission when he came back to the past, nothing could sway him from-

Yet when she shoved the list of neatly scribbled sentences in his face, it was hard not to at least glance across them.

“I don’t have time for this!”

…There were a lot of ‘hooo’s in there… and the word ‘justice‘.He could have almost smirked; Cynthia had not changed one bit since they had been children…

“……..They’re all terrible…….”

She could feel her heart begin to sink. Was she doing something wrong? Cynthia couldn't remember a day when she felt so rejected, only days filled with fun, excitement, and promises of adventure. And Gerome had been her friend through it all, right? Now, Gerome was the super coolest, super heroic-est guy she knew. At this rate, how could she even try to impress him?

Maybe it was her... Maybe she had done something wrong, and now she wasn't heroic enough to be around him. Cynthia's brows began to furrow as a surge of inspiration struck her.

"Then... then I'm gonna make some more! And I'll keep making more, until you like at least one of my catchphrases!"

“Hi Inigo! Having any luck with the ladies?”

She was very used to Inigo's habit of going after women (and failing, most of the time), but it wasn't very common to see him down about it!
