“Rick said you was crazy, last time he saw you.”

He’s blunt, eyes narrowed as he sizes up the other man.

“Figure we’re all a little crazy nowadays, huh?” It’s a threat and a question in one and Daryl’s fingers remain on his knife, blue eyes glinting. “You ain’t gonna hurt ‘em.”

              morgan certainly couldn’t disagree with rick’s tellings of his               mental state all that time ago. in fact, crazy seemed a large               understatement to his wellbeing. he’d lost his mind with               lonliness, with grief. but that didn’t mean things hadn’t               changed now.

                                  ❝ rick was telling the truth. ❞

                                      quiet though the stranger was, morgan had been in                                       the open long enough to become accustomed to                                       listening for the most minute sounds. the difference                                       between what he’d just heard and the sound of the                                       dead ? simple. these footsteps were a lot more EVEN.
