she made you happy just for a while some things end in tragedy not in a smile

but you were grinning like a Cheshire cat only cared about winning and at least you got that

a weakness you wouldn’t allow her love couldn’t get through who’s laughing now? at least they’ll remember you

had they met another place, another time would he still have betrayed her and committed a crime?

is it nature and he’s always been the same or is it nurture and a monster he became

had they not met in the hanging tree would she have fled and finally be free?
