“Oh, it’s definitely the girl,” he nodded. “See their body language? He wants to retreat.”

“I can agree with that. She looks like she wants to kill him.” 

“Did you say you’re sure or that you’re not sure? My bet’s on the girl with longer hair. She looks like she could cut a bitch.”

“Not sure. I think she is going to win. I think he cheated on her.” 

“Oh nice, fill me in on what’s happened so far while I grab the popcorn” Korra smiled pretending she’s holding a bowl and then eating popcorn 

“So I think he cheated or flirted with someone else. One of the two but I can’t actually decifer which one.” Ally smirked. 

PLEASANT PARK APARTMENTS

“i’ve been watching that couple fight for 20 minutes now. I’m sure who is winning though.”

“My kind of girl. Just, be warned that my accent may get thicker the more I drink. If I go full Southern and you’re able, that’s the last stop before sloppy.” She poured her companion a glass, handing it over with an introduction, “I’m Erin.”

“I can handle it. I’m from North Carolina so i’ve been around my fair share of thick southern accents.” Ally took the glass. “I’m Ally.”

“No… Not really. Nothing it worth running. Not even some kind of runner’s high.”

“Are you sure? Might be worth it.” Ally paused and shook her head. “Nah, definitely not worth it.” 

     “Oh easy. Otis Redding covering A Hard Day’s Night, the original song is fine but Otis really brings that exhausted eagerness of being incredibly tired but never tired for the one you love. Nina Simone covering Revolution — now that one is just obvious. The original is fine for wanting only to feel like everything will in fact be alright, however Nina’s cover is like acknowledging all the bad things but refusing to give up hope for the good things. And Kurt Cobain covering And I love her, he really took a typical love song and transformed it to something else entirely. Really incredible. And that’s only three, there are so many more.”

“Wow. You really know a lot about music huh? But I’ll have to listen to those.” 

     “Not exactly no.” He responded taking no time to hesitate. “I could name three good songs they wrote, and for each one I can also direct you to a cover that was much better.”

“Okay, smarty pants. Tell me then.”

He laughed. “Of course. I mean, if I ever need a model again, I’ll definitely call you.”

“I’ll always answer.” 

“Care for a drink to wash away the visual? I bought the bottle.”

“I will never turn down a drink.”

“Apparently after twelve minutes or something, endorphins are released and people get high off of it? That’s the only thing I can think of.”

“Oh, didn’t know that. Explains a lot I guess.” 

“ — do you mind moving just a touch?” amelie spoke as she felt a shadow of somebody behind her “you’re kind of blocking my sun.”

“No can do, sis.” She smirked. “I’m hungry, want to go get something to eat?”

“I wanted to kick that guys ass so hard his vertebrae would pop out of his mouth one by one like a pez dispenser.” Wesley admitted with a sigh, referring to the rather drunk man who had just been making a scene at the bar. “But that would have been ‘unprofessional’ of me, still throwing him out was satisfying.”

“It would’ve been fun to watch though.” 

     “If I see another Beatles record I may just set fire to this place…” He spoke quietly to himself, but loud enough for whoever was around him could hear. As if to annoy him on purpose the sixth White album record popped up in the next row of vinyls he was flipping through. “I mean seriously…— how many Beatles vinyls does one need? We get it, they were popular. I’m just trying to find some Nina Simone. Or Big Momma Thorton. I’d even settle for a Sam Cooke record at this rate.”

“Doesn’t everyone need at least one Beatles vinyl? Although I guess you’re right there are entirely too many here.”

“Yeah? A run does sound like a good idea. If I’m not in house, I’m less likely to fall asleep. I hate running though…”

“Yea, that is true. Do people actually enjoy running? I mean I do it just to get out of the house.”
