Fancy Dress Costume | Paul Poiret | c.1911 — Early in the twentieth century Diaghilev’s Russian dance company, Ballets Russes, performed in Paris—reigniting the taste for orientalism in Europe with its exotic sets and costumes. As this ensemble illustrates, Poiret excelled in recontextualizing western dress with fantastical eastern influence. He was also a maverick modernist in creating a stir, taking promotion of his inventive ensembles to new levels with his infamous spectaculars. 18th Century Style Fancy Dress | House of Worth | c. 1893 — In addition to day and evening fashions for upper-class society women, Worth also created clothes for special occasions, such as the as-yet-to-be-identified fancy-dress ball to which this dress would have been worn. Composed of a separate bodice and skirt executed in shocking pink and black taffeta with paste buttons, machine lace trim, and pleated silk chiffon fichu, this gown illustrates the fashion for eighteenth-century revival, a popular theme for extravagant costume parties of the period. Mourning Dress | c.1820 — This mourning dress incorporates the puffed sleeves and ornate hem details that defined 1820s fashions. Standards for family mourning were modeled after court conventions. Upon a royal death in England, orders were issued detailing the duration of each phase of mourning and appropriate materials. “Oh uh…” Drake gulped, as the older woman pat his spiky red locks. He was always very shy around women, but he always did his best to work up his courage. “H-Hello m’am, it’s n-nice t-to meet you” 

           “Sorry, I’ve just never seen a creature such as yourself. Well , not one that didn’t try to charge and attack. You could say I was checking to see if you weren’t of a threat?” With how he shuddered at her he at least was nervous about the approach. 

Still, there was something odd about this woman that Drake wanted to get to the bottom of. 

              “I’m not throwing any punches, I assure you~”  ✣

Josuke was sleeping soundly, and he woke up with a snort when he heard a knock on the window. He got up and looked over, seeing a feminine shape before coming over. “…Cyndi?” he asked, opening the window and bringing out Crazy Diamond, just in case it wasn’t Cyndi.

                “I’m happy too….nothing felt right while I was gone…it was like a deep pain……”  ✣  

              “Beloved and peaceful time......spent with someone I could never let go.....” Her grip got tight before loosening.  ✣

             “I honestly didn’t realize how bad it was but I would rather make sure that you, your mother and our daughter is safe…..from me. “ She let out a sigh before looking about the room for the child. Yes child , she would be almost ….five now? 

         “ ....Yes.....but I never know how long I shall sleep. It’s different every time after all. I’ll do my best to at least tell you when the fever comes over me once again .....” She had tired for so many eons to be better then who she was when she was created. There was such great improvements that a little ‘nap’ once and a while shouldn’t get her down like this.
