Not because you’re ready, but because no one else will.

You give your money. You give your energy.

And when you try to hold on to just a little for yourself,

you’re met with guilt. Or shouting. Or silence.

It’s hard being the provider when you’re barely surviving.

I don’t mind helping. But I’m tired of being treated like a bad person for needing boundaries.

For needing room to breathe.

For needing to exist without being drained dry.

Love should not feel like debt.

Support should not feel like sacrifice.

And being a good child should not mean abandoning your own peace.

I'm learning to say no without explaining.

To choose my mental health without guilt.

To value myself even if others won’t.

If you're out there carrying more than you can handle, just know:

You’re not selfish.

You’re not wrong.

You’re just human.
