Happy Disability pride month!
These words are a direct quote from my bestie @lilviathan in our Discord server and I don't think I could say it as well as this.
"Friendly reminder to everyone before you say "Gay Pride month is over time for Gay Wrath month!!" or anything like that, that July is actually Disability Pride month.
I don't wanna be a buzzkill or anything, but it is frustrating to watch everyone act like July is a meaningless month that can get claimed for whatever you want when its for Disabled people, who often times find themselves in a hyper-invisible space in our society due to the way ableism creeps everywhere"
There's so much overlap between queer and disabled communities and as an aroace person who's also visually impaired with chronic illness and chronic pain, disability pride is close to my heart.
Okay, listen. Just... hear me out for a sec, please?
Sandrone and Columbina. Besties, frenemies, sisters, in love-- all interpretations are lovely in their own ways. As long as they're together in some way that's all that matters. These two make me so happy and so emotional. I love seeing them together.
Y'all don't understand, I have not adored a pair this much since NezuShi from No.6. I'm not often an invested shipper; it's usually much more of a casual, "I can see it" or, "they're silly/cute, sure, why not".
I won't actively look up fan content often if at all, because I've had a lot of bad experiences with the Genshin fandom as a whole, and especially Genshin shippers. That's not a judgement, just my personal experiences.
(To the few who I haven't had such experiences with: Thank you for making the this community a bit easier to live in, and for not making me feel quite as ashamed to be known to enjoy the game.)
But stars above, I love these two being together.

A good chunk of friendship is just looking after someone else's good like you would your own. Like you see that the grocery store has a discount on that gross thing that Nobody Else But Your One Friend In Particular even likes, and you know that they fucking love those things, so you message them like "hey you like these things, do you want some? You can pay me back later" and they immediately send you the money like "holy shit buy all of them" because you remembered they like those things.
When I went to see my friends for the pride thing last weekend, we went out to eat before that and while we were talking about stuff while waiting for our bill, one of my friends who carries a whole medical bay in their bag took out one of those nice glass-cleaning wet wipes and started cleaning their glasses with it. Focused on the conversation I didn't pay much attention to it but the next time I looked at their direction I noticed them putting away glasses with a different glasses chain (they have like 35 of them, to match every outfit)
And I thought "hold on, how the fuck do they have the same kind of glasses chain pendants as I do? I made those out of earrings I found from goodwill!" until I realised that no wait those are my sunglasses. They just cleaned them out too since my glasses were right next to their elbow on the table and they had the glasses cleaning stuff out. Didn't ask whether I'd want them to do that as a favour, just casually took care of my shit too since it was conveniently there, just the same as they take care of their own things.

not only are most people completely unaware of the devastation of indigenous languages in the americas, most people are completely unaware of the devastation of indigenous languages in europe. never mind occitan, they don't know about basque! it's wild! bleak! existentially horrifying!!!
the last few centuries of french history involved, amongst other things, a concerted effort to establish "french" as a legitimate country and cultural identity, and crucially as a language, which sounds like an absurd statement if you know nothing about the languages of france. french is a language, yes; it exists and existed in the late eighteenth century. but it was limited primarily to the north of france and was certainly not spoken or even understood across the country. other languages within france were banned and french was enforced following the french revolution and even to this day other languages indigenous to france have very little legal protection and are not recognised as official languages.
that's just one country in europe. one. and many people straight up have no idea about any of this!
did you know france has celtic languages? breton is the only celtic language spoken outside of the british isles. did you know france has germanic languages? alsatian, for example, is spoken in the east of france, unsurprisingly in alsace. it's not even the only french germanic language. did you know france has a number of languages and dialects known as langues d'oïl closely related to french? norman and picard, for example, are spoken in the north of france. did you know that france has gallo-romance languages? franco-provençal (which has a number of dialects) is spoken in the east of france, as well as parts of switzerland and italy. did you know that france has a language most closely related to catalan, the langues d'oc? occitan is spoken in the south of france and has a rich literary history. did you know france is home to basque, or rather euskara, a language isolate which predates indo-european languages? romani dialects! corsican! so much more than just french! there are even extinct jewish dialects of occitan! extinct langues d'oïl like angevin! so much linguistic diversity and all anyone talks about is french.

Tell the writer to read the TOS. Writers absolutely CANNOT ask for payment in exchange for fanfic. If they won't take it down ASAP, report it to AO3.

“I saw your post looking for artists to draw (x) and would love to draw it it sounds like a lovely idea and im an artist” - commissioner scammer who DM’d you when you didn’t ask
“Did you send me this link for free tumblr premium?” - accidentally reported you scam
“ your account is limited please kindly verify at (scam link)” - verification scam
Someone on Reddit reported there's apparently a more insidious commissions scam going around where they don't just open up with offering commissions, they spend a lot of time talking to you about your fic before hitting you with the commission part. (I assume they're using AI to have that conversation with you.) So, be cautious out there.
