Don’t be fooled by the title, this is not a fluffy fic but if I go down I’m taking you all with me
"Jin."
The morning sun peaked through the curtains, casting a golden glow on the carpet of the messy room. Coats piled on top of a chair with Umbreaker hanging from the armrest, boots tossed onto each other by it's leg. Cards scattered across the little table, some of them discarded on the floor. A half eaten burger and a bag of fries left outside along half empty glasses. It was messy but it was their mess.
"Enjin."
He stirred awake, a quiet groan rumbling deep in his chest. Pressing his face further into the pillows his arms tightened around the warm body next to him, pulling you further into his chest and smiling against the crown of your hair when you let out a soft laugh. Yeah, he could get used to this feeling.
"Enjiiin," you whispered against his neck, fingers tracing along his tattoos and your nose brushing the line of his jaw. "We have to get up."
Yet you didn't even attempt pulling away.
"5 more minutes?" Enjin snuggled further into the bed, his fingers drawing circles on your waist, legs tangling further under the blankets. "Please?"
The morning light caressed his skin but the warmth of the sun now felt cold against his cheek.
"That's what you said yesterday as well," you spoke but your voice felt foreign in his ears. "You have to get up."
"Get up!"
"You have to get up, come on!"
"Enjin, get the fuck up!"
Your clothes soaked in blood as you kneeled on the ground, hair a tangled mess falling in front of your face in loose strands while your vital instrument laid half-forgotten next to Umbreaker. Your knuckles were turning white from the grip you had on his hand, clutching it in your lap. Enjin's body laid on the cold concrete, blood staining his skin around the cut on his neck, his eyes staring lifelessy into nothing.
"Enjin please," tears fell from your eyes and landed on Enjin's cheeks as you wrapped your arm around him and pulled him against your chest, fingers trembling on his back. His head fell limp on your shoulder, his blood trickling down the front of your clothes, staining the fabric.
Your heart hammered against your ribcage while her hands clawed at his jacket, waiting for him to wrap his arms around you, to tell you it's all just a joke and a very bad at that, to wipe your tears away like he did all those years ago.
But his body stayed slack in your hold and his hands limp by your sides.
"Please - " your forehead dropped to his shoulder, hiding the sobs and tears as you desperately clung onto him. "Don't leave me."
and now i need 10 to 15 business days to recover bye T T
The clock on the wall ticked quietly in the darkness, out of view for you who sat on the edge of the bed. It was surely way past 2am and yet you were still there, hair tied back, the sleeves of your sweater rolled up, leaning over Enjin and brushing the damp strands of hair out of his face.
He was covered in blankets from head to toe despite his very obvious reluctance. His fever was burning high and he slipped in and out of sleep, disturbed by hazy dreams that only lasted seconds at a time. His breathing was labored and he was covered in cold sweat.
There was a frown between his eyebrows when you placed another wet towel on his forehead, trying to push your hand away at the contact but you were quicker, gently taking a hold of his wrist before he could throw away the towel.
“Don’t fight me on this, Enjin.” you warned but your voice carried not anger but concern and your thumb brushed over the back of his hand.
Enjin just let out a tired groan and an inaudible mumble, exhausted from the fever and the lack of sleep.
His eyes fluttered open, yellow irises peering out from under his long eyelashes and watching you hazily.
“Are you real?” he rasps quietly.
You felt the way his fingers wrapped around your hand and you smiled, bringing his hand to your lips and pressing a gentle kiss on his palm right above the curling lines of his tattoos. “Of course i’m real,”you whispered, dabbing the side of his neck with another towel and caressing his jaw when he shivered from the cold.
“You’re not just saying that to trick me, right?” his voice sounded foreign from his mouth, so quiet and weak, like a ghost from the usual intensity he talked with.
“No, I’m not trying to trick you,” you chuckled and adjusted the blankets around him.
He was quiet for a few seconds, eyes watching you as if he was trying to decide whether you were telling the truth or not.
“I don’t believe you,” he pouted. The Enjin. Pouting like a child and it took everything in you not to burst out laughing.
“You don’t?” you asked.
Enjin shook his head, wincing from the sudden movement.
“Why?”
“‘Cause you’re too pretty to be real.” he murmured, eyelids closing, seemingly on the verge of falling into another feverish dream. “There’s just no way.”
You smiled as you watched him slowly drift off, brushing your fingers through his hair. You held his hand in yours even after his fingers went limp, thumb drawing circles on the back of his hand.
Laying your head down you pressed your ear against his chest right where his heart was beating erratically, listening to its rhythm in the silence of the night, eyes glued to his face, his quiet breathing easing your worries a little bit.
The club was buzzing with energy, the dance floor packed to the brim with people jumping to the music and not caring about the content of their cups splashing everywhere, led lights reflecting off the mirrored ceiling and covering the room with colorful lights switching so fast it’s impossible to tell which color follows which.
The music was loud, the bass making the walls vibrate with the beat, cigarette smoke clouding in the air despite the obvious ‘No smoking’ sign in the entrance.
One side of the bar was stashed with people all trying to push through the crowd for an order of their next drink while the bartenders mixed cocktails after cocktails with hurried precision, straining their ears to catch the next customer’s order through the music.
“Just looking out for your sleep schedule, that’s all.
On the far side of the bar, in a dimly lit corner away from the buzzing and noise of the impatient customers, sat Enjin on a bar stool, hunching over the bar, enjoying whatever remains of his rare day off. Cigarette lit in one hand, smoke curling upwards when he brought it to his lips, a drink in the other, something strong, maybe whiskey.
His fingers curled around the glass, carefully tilting it from one side to the other, staring the at flashing lights reflecting on the surface of the ice.
Someone placed a hand on his shoulder.
Enjin’s eyes flicked to the side, taking in the the sight of a woman now sitting on the bar stool next to him. She was talking to him but the volume of the music swallowed half of her words, leaning towards Enjin, the low neckline of her glittering dress left very little to the imagination. Her hand contained running up and down his arm, following the lines of the tattoos on his skin until they disappeared below the sleeve of his shirt before laying her palm on his shoulder.
Or she would have done but her hand was swiftly slapped away.
“Oh, you ordered for me? Thanks babe!” Enjin’s lips curled into a smile as you swooped in and sat down on his lap, placing an arm around his shoulders before pressing your lips against the corner of his mouth. You snatched the drink, his drink, from his hand and brought it to your lips while staring down at the girl with an icy gaze. “Who’s your friend?”
The woman was gone before you could take a sip of the whiskey, your eyes following her until she disappeared into the crowd. “Yeah, that’s what I thought.”
A deep chuckle rumbled in Enjin’s chest, his shoulders shaking as he tried his hardest not to laugh out loud. His hand found the curve of your waist and settled there, his large palm spreading out on your side. “That was mine.” He was smiling now, his dimples showing.
“Too bad.” You just shrugged, eyes still fixed on the crowded dance floor.
You spotted Enjin the second you came in, sitting in the same spot he always does and despite feeling his gaze lingering you, you didn’t approach him, waiting for him to seek you out instead. That was until you saw the random woman with her hand on his arm, eyeing him up, so you decided to intervene. For his own good, of course.
“My sleep schedule?” Enjin’s eyes gleamed under the flashing light, no doubt finding the situation entertaining.
You placed the glass back between his fingers. “Wouldn’t want you to get distracted and miss out on your beauty sleep.”
Enjin laughed out loud, his head tipping back, blonde locks falling in front of his eyes. “How considerate of you,”he spoke over the music, his grip on your waist tightening and pulling you closer, his other hand finding its place on your thigh. “But, and I’m just thinking out loud here so don’t go biting my head off…” a sly smirk stretched on his lips now as he leaned closer, his voice lower. “You wouldn’t happen to be jealous, would you?”
Your gaze finally met his under the neon lights, eyes widening for the fraction of a second but then you rolled your eyes with a scoff.
“Please, I’m not jealous any more than you were just two days ago when Gris was, according to you, smiling at me for too long.” You leaned closer, watching his eye twitch almost unnoticeably at the mention of Gris, your breath ghosting over his lips before standing up. “What did you say then? Oh right, ‘not even a little bit’. There’s your answer.”
Enjin watched you stand, his hand slipping from your waist and his fingers twitched, wanting to reach for you again but deciding not to. Not yet. He just breathed out a quiet laugh, his eyes dropping to your mouth. “Touché.”
Your gaze followed his every move, the edge of your lips curling into a soft smile, shaking your head slightly, the tip of your finger gently coming up to guide his head back until his gaze met yours again. “Eyes up here, lover boy.”
And then you were slipping away.
Enjin watched you disappear into the crowd just as quickly as you had previously appeared, golden eyes glued to your back, watching as you glanced back at him over your shoulder, eyes glowing in the flashing lights.
“Goddammit…”
He downed the whisky, the glass left empty on the bar as he was already on his feet, pushing through the people jumping around on the dance floor until he caught up to you. His palm found the small of your back, splaying out there, warm and firm, guiding you through the crowd towards the side entrance, away from the people, from the music and from the neon lights.
The outside air felt chilly on your skin at this time of the night, goosebumps rising on your arms as Enjin guides you back carefully, your back meeting the wall and the door shuts behind them, the beat of the current song pulsing quietly in the background reduced to a subtle noise.
Enjin pressed closer, his hand sliding to the back of your neck, thumb brushing against the curve of your jaw, tilting your face up towards him while his other hand found its place on your waist. And you lets him, looking at him from under you lashes, hands wandering up his chest and then you stop, letting your palm rest above where his heart is beating.
His eyes bore into your, bright yellow irises glowing as vibrant as ever in the dim lighting and staring into your eyes under the night’s shadows.
“You’re not exactly playing fair, sweetheart,” a hoarse whisper and your lips curl into a subtle smirk.
“Whatever could you mean by that, i wonder?”
Enjin huffs out a sigh accompanied by a groan. He tilts your head further, fingers curling around the back of your neck tighter and leans over you, so close now that you feel his breath fanning over your cheeks.
“Can you just admit it?” Admit that seeing another woman with her hands on him and smiling at him bothered you just as much as seeing another man being the focus of your attention bothered him. “Just this once?”
Your gaze dropped to his mouth at the sound of his voice, hoarse and thick and barely audible, and it barely lasted a second before your eyes snapped back to his.
“You first.”
“Oh for Christ’s sake…” Enjin scoffed, whether from annoyance or amusement is hard to tell, letting his head drop so his forehead pressed against yours, voice coming out as a quiet murmur. “I was jealous, hell, I am jealous! Happy now?”
Your fingers curled around the collar of his shirt, pressing closer to the warmth radiating from him.
You smiled, nose brushing against his. “I suppose you could say that i was just a tiny bit jealous — “
Enjin’s mouth is on yours already, hard and deep, tasting like whiskey and smoke, and he groans against your lips when you opens for him, tilting your head and tugging him closer until there’s no space left between you.

In which you prefer the cold but Enjin runs naturally hot.

It’s quiet in the room, peace settling over the room like a warm blanket, the silence only interrupted by the occasional footsteps in the hallway. The soft glow of the rising sun peaks under the curtains, casting a warm light on the old, patched up umbrella leaned against the bed frame in its rightful place.
Your eyes open slowly, blinking away the sleep and taking in the room painted in the early morning sun. Reaching blindly towards the nightstand you grab the watch you knew would be in the same place, just like every time in the past, and checked the time before placing it right back to where it was and letting your hand rest over it, taking a few moments to just lay there in the comfortable warmth.
You were laying on the edge of the bed, you noticed, left leg hanging off the bed, toes cold against the worn out carpet, large shirt and the corner of the blanket a tangled mess around your waist.
The source of warmth laid behind you, pressed against your back with a heavy arm draped around your middle, his every breath ghosting over the back of your neck. The soft strands of his hair tickled your nape as you turned around in his hold, coming face to face with him and feeling the subtle way his arm tightened around you for a heartbeat as he also stirred from his sleep.
“Hey there, blondie.” words barely above a whisper, hand coming to rest over the side of his neck where his tattoos meet in a spiral, eyes watching his face, the relaxed curve of his eyebrows, the blonde eyelashes, the small dimples on his cheeks. “Are you planning to push me off the bed one of these days?” you huff out a laugh, the sound so delicate in the silence of the room, while looking at the free space on the other side of the bed.
Enjin’s lips curl into a smile, a quiet chuckle rumbling in his chest.
“Maybe you should stop running from me.” he says, voice low and raspy, his eyes still closed.
“You’re too hot.”
“I’m aware.”
With a roll of your eyes you presses your foot against his, the cold skin a sharp contrast to the warmth of the blanket that covers Enjin from head to toe and you let out a giggle when he jerks away from the touch. “Stupid.”
“Hey!” he lets out a dramatic gasp, feigning hurt but the way the edge of his mouth curls upwards betrays him. “Keep those icy feet away from me, i mean it!”
“What are you gonna do about it?” the tone of your voice is playful, almost teasing, a little glint in your eyes as you stick out your leg towards him again.
But Enjin’s quicker this time.
Large hands grasp your waist, tattooed fingers splaying out around your sides and back. His touch is warm over the thin fabric of the shirt as he drags you closer, hair tangled on the pillow as you lay on your back. Enjin’s leaning over you now, propped on his elbow next to your head while his other hand remains on your waist, warm, heavy and comforting, fingers drumming to a beat only he knows.
His eyes are open now, yellow irises staring down into your eyes, his gaze a little tired but full of adoration.
“Girl, you’ve got way too much energy for the morning.” he murmurs quietly before dropping back down, half draped over you, his face pressed against the crook of your neck, soft breath tickling your skin.
Your hand finds its way into his hair, fingers brushing through the blonde locks, thumb soothing over the scar on the side of his head, your other arm wrapping around his back, fingertips tracing over the lines of his tattoos over his shirt.
It’s quiet again for a moment, your breathing syncing with each other’s, before you presses your toes against the sole of his feet.
Enjin lets out a deep sigh, a groan rumbling in his chest and you laugh quietly, pressing your face into his hair.
“I hate you.” he mumbles agains your skin but makes no effort to move away.
Choso, your boyfriend who, despite loving the feeling of your fingers gently running through his hair, much rather enjoys if he’s the one who gets to play with yours instead. Whether it is braiding your soft locks or just simply brushing it he loves the feeling of you leaning into his touch when his rough fingertips ghost over the nape of your neck, his breath fanning over your skin.
Choso, your boyfriend who might be just slightly overprotective. He has always been protective by nature, putting his brother’s safety before his own, and he wants to shield you from harm the same way. His first instinct when sensing danger is to pull you behind him and not because he doesn’t trust your abilities to protect yourself he just simply wishes to keep you safe himself.
Choso, your boyfriend who, if he could, would keep his hands on you at all times. The comforting weight of his palm on the small of your back, the small circles he absentmindedly traces on your wrist, his warm hand cupping your cheek and his thumb brushing over your soft skin before ghosting over the curve of your lips. Any time he has to let go of you a subtle frown forms on his face.
Choso, your boyfriend who loves to hold you close to him. He reaches for your hand, touch so gentle you barely notice when he laces his fingers with yours before pulling you close, tucking you into his side and throwing his arm around your shoulder.
Choso, your boyfriend who can’t stand the sight of your blood. He hates to see you injured even if it’s only a scratch but the moment he spots the tiniest drop of your blood he’s already worrying. He won’t fuss over you but he’s going to hover in your space, cradling your face in his palms gently, eyes scanning over your body for any more signs of wounds.
Choso, your boyfriend who tried to cook for you. He really does try but he cannot cook. At all. Like he’s cursed, every dish he touches, something goes wrong with it whether it be during preparation or in the oven, there’s always something. So he chooses to just observe instead, watching you as you work, following you around and listening to you talk.
Choso, your boyfriend who’s a little awkward when it comes to words. He’s always been the quiet, observing type who kept to himself. So, when words do fail him he lets his actions speak his true feelings, wrapping you into his arms and holding you tight, his heart beating loudly in his chest, the steady rhythm speaking more than words could.
In which you prefer the cold but Enjin runs naturally hot.

Her fingers curled around the collar of his jacket, tugging him forward without much resistance, his palms stretching out on her sides to encircle her waist. The material of her shirt creasing between his fingers as his grasp around her tightens, pulling her flush against him while his lips press against hers. And it’s messy and it’s rushed but it’s everything and she finds herself unable, no, unwilling to move away, rough fingers brushing over her sides but it’s almost uncharacteristically gentle from him as he kisses her, devours her lips like a starved man. Perhaps he was starving for her, he thinks as he brushes his tongue along the line of her bottom lip before prying open her mouth, not that she was resisting, and slipping his tongue past her lips, eliciting a soft gasp from her that gets swallowed up by his lips slotted against hers. His hand trails up her side, calloused fingers leaving featherlight touches behind and she shivers under him as his hand grasps the back of her neck, angling her head in a way that lets him lean over her and press further, kiss her deeper than before and when he feels the pull of her hands urging him closer does he wonder, really wonder, why didn’t he just kiss her sooner.
