Aaliyah & Her Ocs, Aaliyah Marie Arts, AMA Arts, and Just A Doodler is one i also had for a short time on Discord. (For when I wanted to be less on the nose.)
I am 25, Pronouns are She/Her, I am a Bicurious/Demisexual, but I am also a Fictosexual/Fictoromantic Yume/Selfshipper. I graduated college as an Illustrator, I am the eldest of 5, please read my rules here
I will be using this account mostly for rambles and venting since I don't feel fully safe on my main. That account will now mostly be used for art and updates if I leave or am busy, etc.
I figured the best way to do that would be through the lenses of my ocs and my happy place. They are both just me, but two sides of me that live in my head. (The lesbians in my brain I jokingly call them)
For info on my story im using as the base for this account and my Hashtags for this account— under the clip.
My happy place is usually depicted as a endless nicely cloudy sky above an endless body of calm water. There is no people living in it except for the two I mention below. They can walk on the water as if they were petals floating on the surface. The only other beings living above the water are many, many, many butterflies that fly freely. In each cloud is my memories, and each butterfly represents either a dream I have, a thing i enjoy, or a individual I know or love.
Below the water is darkness... tendrils of depression that threaten to reach out and pull those two under. But they cannot breach the surface. They are confined below the water waiting for there chance to try and drag them under. Which only can happen when one of those above are consumed by dark feelings that make them sink. To which they have to fight back through those dark feelings to swim to the surface again.
The two that reside above water are as follows.
Joy: Who I am on the outside, Who I try and appear to be and want to be when I'm with others and more. My soft side that just wants to be loved and give love.
And
Hope: My emotions, My hidden interests and things I don't often show, my tough and stern side that doesnt take anything if it means it will effect my joy.
But as I have written with these characters, they have their moments when they can become corrupted or just consumed by other emotions. (Represented by the black markings on Hope's skins that reach her eye)
Melancholy: When I just feel depressed or saddened by things around me. When im overwhelmed and can't help but cry. When I shut down and even my joy can't make me feel better.
And
Despair: When I become angered and irritated. When I just cant contain what I feel and I just need to yell it out or take it out on something, mostly myself.
I will use the Hashtags to convey what I saw when I say them. (Unless I am lazy or unable to express the emotions I feel through these)

FINALLY! Here is Fiend Warlock Elise- Making this outfit made me restart like 5 time... I couldn't decide on so much stuff and was getting so frustrated. But NOW I'm very happy with it~! I hope you guys will be too! I tried to fit as much of the wild and wackiness as I could without going too crazy and I really like how it looks!

O wise doodler! I’ve been curious! Do you have an art guide on the Studio Investigative or/and your art style? Your sprites are so convincing!! I thought it was canon art!
OMG REALLY?! I am so happy to hear that! Art Style Mimicry is a HUGE thing I'm normally NOT good at. But it makes me so giddy and excited to hear that! That's the best compliment I could receive! (I hope this isn't too rambly at all :( )
To be honest- I don't have a guide! What I usually do is sketch certain shapes out on top of the characters themselves for basic shapes like head and body proportions. Like for my ocs I actually put all their Yume's right next to them as a ref to the style and went back and forth with comparing the way I did it and
When I do the canon character I am LEGIT drawing over top of them like a guide or template. I usually use a bright color (red mostly) to sketch out shapes and then add more layers to flesh and clean it out.
One thing I notice that I do have is I like drawing my necks thinner then normal and also my heads bigger then the game sometimes! Also my torsos are much shorter then SIG's style- The biggest difference between me and them is I am WAAAAY more detailed in all my art. I actually have to tone it back for when I do the art here! I LOVE detail and with SIG sprites like my Eddie's I tone it down in some cases unless I feel like GOING AT IT- Like the D&D au! D&D is a detailed thing in general so the outfits and stuff kinda have to be detailed imo.
I struggle to explain how my art style works and I feel maybe doing in words would be confusing. So I can give slight example photos maybe? IDK how helpful those will be though.
Using my Elise I'm almost done with as reference-
I started with tracing basic important shapes.
Then I try and concept something while trying to be mindful of the silhouette and such. I use MANY layers to do so. Also when I want to make multiple sprites/expressions- I try and keep ALL eyes, eyebrows, and mouths on SEPERATE layers. Makes it where I always have a base!
With this Elise, I also kept the arms on separate layers too so I could make the other arms that fit this pose Elise is in! (leaning forward) Which lead to these!
All while keeping the face (and ears/anything that would maybe change with an emote) on sperate layers!
Then it's just color and deciding on colors which can be hard! (Hence me still not being done with this lol) I take the ref i traced the shape of and slide it aside to pick the colors from with eye dropper and go from there!
start flat and keeping all colors on separate layers. Now i JUST started using clip studio which has cool brush's and stuff. so definitely experiment with those! I learned for my brain to like what I draw i SIG style I NEED to use the default Textured Brush. I tried using a smooth brush and I hated my life.
I also to shade use lots of clipping masks and such. like A LOT of clipping masks. (this is all on ONE layer for example) It just makes things MUCH easier to me. I also use a lot of Layer filters. Usually Soft light for Clip Studio. I also used Overlay sometimes and more frequently in Photoshop. (my previous program until I became the very broke bitch I am)
But both of those help with Shading which... TBH! I use Black and White unless I feel experimental! OR I am drawing the canon, then I will use the colors given unless I feel like changing them a little. (ex: Sailor's shaded skin color I made more a brown then a red because I liked it better.)
then from there shade wherever you think would be dark and put light (if you want to) on the edges you want! I have been through 5 years of art college and have a degree in Illustration and I STILL just shade things how I want and people love it. So do what feels right for you!
I'm not done shading this one yet but you can see where I have put shadows and such so it's purely where folds and such are. Just remember your lightest light will always be up against your darkest dark sometimes.
IDK if that helps or anything. I'm really bad at explaining but I hope this visual helps a little? the process is long and tedious and HEAVILY dependent on if I'm inspired to WANT to draw. Which rn, I only want to do because people like you guys like seeing what I have to make! If you weren't here, I wouldn't be drawing most likely rn.

That's actually one of the songs I listened to when making him! Any song with Telemachus or Polites! both of those personalities fit him really well and were what I listened to on repeat the entire time! Hehe. I'm so happy you love the design~!
Finally at a point where I'm satisfied I hope it gives crazy warlock enough for everyone, I struggled a lot. and restarted like 5 times. I don't want to give them the witch hat because I plan to do that with Poppy and a hood hides the cool ears. so idk what to do because I wanna do a hair/head accessory but idk. But here's the wip!!!

Hey so i brought up this really silly crazy and almost project sized thing to my qpp and they said I should try and do it maybe- IF and when I finish the entire cast- I have had the idea to go back and do ALL the sprites of EVERY character in the au and make another blog where you can talk to all of them at any time. Is that a liked idea??? Am I crazy???
So motivation kinda died after work and staying awake is just making it hard to keep my eyes open. Ima catch some Z's and then get straight into Warlock Elise!
