Cain had been thinking about the future for a while and while he was very happy with the life he and Juni were living, he'd be lying if he said he wasn't thinking about maybe moving things forward. The last time he had visited his family he'd been given his grandmother's engagement ring, but he never mentioned it to her, he didn't want to blindside her, they'd been together so long that he knew it was best to have a discussion first.
Cain was an excellent cook, the dishes he made were simple, but delicious and he enjoyed making dinner for the two of them to enjoy together after they finished work. Meals were typically quiet affairs, as they were busy using their hands, but partway through their dinner, Cain stopped eating and got Juni's attention. "Juni, I know we're happy, you are the best thing that has ever happened to me, but do you ever think about...us maybe making things official between us?"

Juniper would be lying if she said she hadn't thought about a future with Cain. She would love to marry him one day and have a little family with him but there was a small part of her that was always nervous that he wouldn't want to deal with her health issues even though she knew he didn't care about that. It had been getting worse lately, something she hadn't shared with him. She was at her doctor just that day to talk with him about the issues that had been arising lately, about just how much hearing loss she had been experiencing and she had come away with news that she always knew she would get but always feared.
Coming home to food being prepared instantly lifted Juniper's mood and she couldn't help but smile once she walked into the kitchen. She greeted Cain and then went to go get changed and ready for dinner, knowing she would have to tell him the results of the appointment and tell him she had even gone to the doctor in the first place, and why. What she wasn't expecting when he had stopped her from eating another bite was him asking about a future together and she watched him, smiling. 'You are the best thing to happen to me too. I think about a future together often. Is this something you think about too?' She asked, head tilted to the side slightly as she waited for her answer, the doctor's visit weighing heavily on her mind. 'I....I should tell you where I was today...before we speak about a future, which I want to bad, Cain. I was at the doctor today because my hearing has gone away and I fear it may be for good. I lost my balance when I went into the office today, I got very dizzy, and what little hearing I was having is now gone. I know it doesn't bother you but my mind won't stop telling me that you won't want to be with me because of my health. I know it's stupid...."
