HELLRUNA

In my dream we were at a lake, Lake Muskegon and Aldo was there and I think his family, and my mom. Mom had face tattoos! A red butterfly on her cheek. Cartoon dogs stacked on top of each other, spelling out a word I can't remember. We were in a houseboat on the lake, and there were these white tiled canals that ran lakewater all around the lake it was so clear but I was still afraid of getting in the water. There was a restaurant called The Mermaid and I went on a computer to see if they sold tshirts

Flying dream. Maui was much bigger, there was a city it reminded me of Chicago. Springtime, grey skies. I had a white lid of a plastic tote that I caught the wind with, it lifted me up past dingy little cafe's and the tops of buildings. I kept going higher and higher, blowing in the direction of Haleakala and the cloud line. The lid was threatening to crack so I was afraid of falling, but still exhilarated from flight. I looked down over the city and then I was past the city, flying over the suburbs as they thinned out and became more rural, just forest. I came down at the cloud line, so far away from where I started and Max or Bosco was there, I was trying to keep hold of him as he kept running into ppls yards.

Not much remains except a few images: in the dream, what I thought was dick cheese was actually a chunk and threads of skin, I pinched it off and my dick bled a bit. I was holding the pinched off chunk and it began to grow, and grew into an organism the size of a cat, then the size of a dog, then it was man sized. Aldo had one as well.

In my dream it was prehistory, the time of early humans, I was traveling with a band of nomads and we were being pursued by a rival band up a path along a river called the "dump road". The Sun was setting and we had lain hidden during the last of the light so the ones chasing us were ahead of us. I had gone a little ahead up the path and seen signs of them, garbage strewn on the pristine grass of the path and the light of their fires - we all doubled back and hid on top of a wooden structure as we were sure they would have seen us. Some in the group seemed to not care for their safety and had lit a fire of their own and were telling stories but I believe we got them to hide too. As I was securing my hiding spot on the roof, I became aware of the fact that I could pick up on the thoughts of the leader of the other group, a woman warrior who was expounding on the uselessness of domestic work like sewing, saying how hunting was much more important.

My sky is cut on the edge of a great grey building | watch from rippled glass as ghosts of people cross the street | shepherd | leading us to slaughter | this city fills with foulness and waste that not even heavy rain can touch | feel it rise in me | insides are cut on edges of plastic and metal | inside my bloodflow like the great river | oil and shit and slime and water | cleansed in the sea but never clean
